"When I first started using this ammo I had 2 to 3 jams per magazine. Then one of the guys I was shooting with watched me fire a few rounds, and noticed that my grip was a bit low and the pistol would whipsaw causing recoil mechanism to not have enough momentum to cycle. As soon as I raised my grip to where it should be the jamming stopped. Accuracy is good. The only problem is that this ammo seemed a bit dirty. Otherwise a very good price for target ammo."

"Had ordered a couple of boxes of this just to try in a few different guns. Didn't actually expect much. Wow, was I suprised. Have yet to have a round not go bang when I pull the trigger, no FTF, or FTE in any of a half dozen guns. I liked it so much I ordered a thousand. Accurate enough to shoot in IDPA too. I'll buy more."

"I ordered a box for practice at the range. I inspected the rounds when they came in and even compared them to some boxes of new Federal ammo that I picked up at elsewhere and was very pleased (and massively disappointed in the Federal). These shoot great and for the price, you couldn't beat them if you were doing the reloading yourself. This will be my only choice for 9mm FMJs from here on out."

"Fired about a hundred rounds through my Beretta 92fs today. No problems - great ammo for the range - I can afford to shoot more at this price."

"Excellent Ammo, no misfires, use for IDPA and range. Ammo looks better than store bought Federal."

"This ammo is great for firing out on the range. I was able to hit the bullseye at 25 yards in my RIA 9mm on the first 3 shots. Pretty good ammo for the price. I recommend it."

"I bought this b/c it was the cheapest range ammo I could find. Fires great out of my Glock 19 and my Dad's Ruger P95. I chronographed 20 rounds of it through both guns. This batch is not as fast as WWB or AE, but it was accurate on paper and knocked down steel at 25 yards. I'd be cautious about using it for IDPA. Half the rounds I measured didn't exceed the 1087 ft/s Power Floor for 115gr ammo (115*1087=125000). Either way, I was still impressed with it. Both our 9s have been cleaned and we agree it's not any dirtier than WWB or AE. I would highly recommend this for cheap range practice but would chrono it in your gun before using it for IDPA. Will definitely buy more when my supply starts getting low."

"I've shot 500 rounds with my Beretta and haven't had one jam. I will order more."

"I ordered this ammo on the basis of the reviews. I gotta say, for the money, at the range it can't be beat. I had not one jam or misfire through all the 9mm I have. I will buy more when needed!"

"awesome deal for plinking.Shot the entire box of 1000rds in about 2 months, not a single failure or jam. Love it!"

"If this ammo is ever in stock again, I'm going to buy 5,000 rounds or more. It worked great with no misfires no jams. I went through 1000 rounds in about a month"

"I have shot about 2000 rounds of this and has still not had any missfires. It is my round of choice for sure. Now if they only had some in stock......."

"Great ammo! Not the cleanest, but that's why you clean you firearm. Highly recommended!!!"
4.0 5
"I liked the ammo. It's not the cleanest, but it ii adequate range and target ammo. I had to double strike a few rounds, but all of them fired. Next time I will but two cases if they ever have it in stock."

"I was finally able to order this and it is excellent practice ammunition. I've shot about 500 rounds out of the 1000 so far and have only had one FTF using both my Glock 19 and S&W MP9. I'll get more as soon as it is available."
5.0 5
"Really good ammo Ive only had two missfires with it, wierdly in the same clip but the clip is a good one. It's fairly clean. Ive only shot about 200 of these rounds through my Taurus PT92. I wiuld like to buy more when I get the chance and I think that I would almost trust my life on it."
5.0 5
"I have shot about 250 of these rounds and not a single problem. The gun was not anymore dirty than any other ammo I've used including some good match and HD ammo. Of course I would not use this ammo for HD or a match but it is great for practice and plinking which is what is was made for, so that is why I gave it 5 stars, because it is perfect for what it is designed for."
5.0 5
"Great ammo for the price. I've run about 300 rounds through my Beretta px4 and haven't had any problems with it. It's dirty as hell but who cares if you properly matain your firearm?"
5.0 5
"I decided to try this, & i've run a couple of hundred rounds through my glock. It does not have the 'pop' of even the russian stuff, but it is ok. It's about .20 a round shipped, so the price is tough to beat for brass, fmj rounds. Good for practice & a low priced stockpile."

"This is good range ammo, my wifes Hi-Point 9mm carbine, eats this ammo all day long, if you think this is dirty ammo clean your gun, all ammo leaves something behind, will buy more when it is back in-stock thanks CTD."

"I give This specific batch 1 bullet, and can not speak for other 9mm BVAC batches.Maybe? Hopefully, I just got a bad batch, but BVAC PLEASE DO BETTER QUALITY CONTROL! Did you change something? The machines need adjusting! I should not have to take my gun to the Smithy because I fired this ammo out of a Glock! And let me say I'm a very good customer here at CTD, and until now have been Very satisfied....but..I had to take my Glock 22 to the gun smith after shooting 43 rounds of this 9mm ammo. I had my Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel installed in it, effectively making it a Glock 17 and had a ridiculous jam. Yes, I was using 9mm magazines. I guess I'll call it a FTFFF (failure to fully freaking feed), thus not allowing the slide to come fully forward which diss allows the firing pin to deploy. As I found out later, the brass was Not Fully Re-sized when it was reloaded, leaving the bottom 4mm of the bullet casing to fat to fully chamber in the barrel. It was jammed in so hard I, the range manager, nor gun smith could eject it by pulling back the action or any other fines maneuver. The gun smith took off the back plate and took out the firing pin so there was no chance of accidental discharge. Then proceeded to take a dowel and hard rubber hammer to tap the bullet out of the barrel. The gun smiths tried scolding me for using cheap ammo in aftermarket barrels. I figured this was a good time to do a little side by side comparison. So we tried the bullet in a standard Glock 17 barrel and it did not fully camber either, sticking out 2mm more then it should, so I can't blame the Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel, and the gun smiths we redused to \"you get what you pay for\". Truth spoken.I did quality control on every bullet remaining, 956 of the 1000 later that night, test sliding them into the removed 9mm Lone Wolf barrel. I pulled out 11 total, 8 that fit so tight I had to pry them back out, some may have worked fine, but I won't risk it. 3 were definitely to f..."

"Would not reliably cycle an AR-15 9mm setup that works flawlessly with commercial ammo. Roughly 40% of the rounds would only push the bolt back far enough to chamber the next round but not cock the hammer."

"Great buy. Worked as expected. Not sure why reviewer's say things like, \"a little dirty\"...isn't that what happens? Have never fired a bullet that was 'self-cleaning'. Maybe it's the same people who say a barrel tightens their shot group- that just doens't happen. If two barrels are equally straight- then the bullet doesn't magically shoot tighter. It's like those who spend an extra $200 bucks on a Sig...just so they can say, \"I got a Sig\". This does the trick and is inexpensive."

"When I found this ammo, I thought, its worth a try for the low price per round. I've Shot about 300 rounds through my S&W Sigma , with only 2 or 3 missfeeds, and 1 missfire. I've also shot 400 rounds through my Beretta 92FS with no problems at all. This ammo is a little dirty, but since I clean my weapons every time I shoot, I can deal with this. Over all this is great ammo, and I am waiting for restock to purchase another 1000 rounds"

"My Glocks ate up this ammo with no problems. Went through 1000 rounds without a single failure. Great range/plinking ammo and at about $0.17 per round, you just can't beat the price! WANT MORE!!! LOTS MORE!!!"

"I literally just got back from the range. I was so impressed with this ammo that I didn't want to forget to come on here and write a review. My friend and I split around 500 rounds today between my Glock 17 4th gen. and his Ruger (not sure what kind). Not one round we shot today jammed or misfired. As far as target rounds go these are great."

"I have shot over 2000 rounds of this and the 180 gr 40 S&W BVAC without any problems. Great ammo!"
3.0 5
"Ran about 200 rounds through a glock 34. Ammo runs through aok and is great for just throwing lead. Started wondering why my shooting was worse than normal so I started shooting paper. Accuracy wise I can get slightly better 12 yard groups with my standard practice ammo (which is nothing special) than I can shoot with this ammo at 7 yards. Perhaps another gun would not suffer so much with this stuff but for me it will get used up for short range speed drills & not replaced."
5.0 5
"Shot all 1000 rounds through four different guns. Not one FTF, FTE, or whatever. All went boom and hit paper."
4.0 5
"Found about 10-11 steel cased rounds in the first 200 that I shot (not really a big issue). One round was completely messed up, bullet looked like it was forced into the case & case was split along the side. Accuracy is ok, even though it is fairly cheap it shoots cleaner than any other ammo I have found for under $10 per 50 rounds. If not for the steel cased ammo mixed in & the 1 screwed up round I would rate this as 5 stars."
5.0 5
"Can't beat the bang for the buck. I've ordered 8,000 total and am very pleased. The 'dirty' thing still gets me worked up when people say that. It's ammunition and it's once-fired stuff...if you're buying this and shooting it- you're probably using it for speed/reaction drills...NOT pistol sniper competitions."

"Not hollowpoint, but great range rounds, 5 slugs plus!!"

"I've gone through about half of the thousand round box, and I have yet to have a malfunction of any kind. Some of the casings could have been cleaned a whole lot better. Bottom line, this is the only way to get bass at this price/round unless you're reloading yourself."

"Folks, don't buy it! At least not now, before the manufacturer resolves the quality issue! And the issue is SERIOUS.I have purchased 4000 rounds worth of 9mm FMJ ammo in July 2011 and have shot around 200 so far. Out of 200 rounds about every 5th shot was a double feed. The round gets stock real hard and it is such a pain to pull it out of the gun!!It's all gun's fault? No. I used it on Glock 19 Gen4. Then I used the same ammo on Glock 26 gen 3. Same problem! Double feeds every 3-5th round!!!So far I can only blame a quality control of this particular shipment. DON'T BUY IT before they fix the quality issues! Other wise you will end up wasting your money on ammo you can't use!"

"I'm a rookie, bought my first gun about two month's ago. Shot over 300 rounds with my Glock 19 gen4, no issues at all. Just ordered another 1000. Great ammo for practice! Great service from CTD!"

"I shot 1000 rounds of BVAC JHP (jacketed hollow point) and loved it, when I tried to re-order, I failed to notice that I was ordering a different round, the FMJ. I'm shooting a new CZ-75, about 150 rounds per week, almost entirely in practical pistol USPSA matches, with never a malfunction. The FMJ rounds are visibly longer and are getting stuck when they feed out of the magazine. I had more than 12 jams during competition the first day I used this ammo. I strongly recommend avoiding the FMJ if you're shooting a CZ-75. I'm not sure how many other handguns might have this issue with FMJ rounds, and I don't know whether BVAC's FMJ are different dimensions from other FMJ 9mm ammo."

"Fired 1000 rounds through a used, beat up Glock 17, and a Glock 34. Ammo Fired/Functioned perfectly aside from a tumbler here and there. Good for the range, cycled great, and hit the paper every time."
4.0 5
"I've now put almost 1000 rounds through my Glock 34 without any issues at the range. The accuracy is OK (other ammo does better in terms of my groupings), so if you're looking for rounds to cycle through at the range, then this is pretty good. With that said I'm very satisfied as they meet my standards for what I used them for at a price that is hard to beat."

"Of the first 12 rounds I attepmted to fire, 1 would't extract & 3 would not fully chamber. CTD claimed to know nothing about problems & referred me to BVAC. I have not completed checking all the rounds, but about 1/3 are ok, 1/3 will fire, but may not extract, the rest won't chamber in my primary weapon, so are about useless. Waiting to hear from BVAC."
4.0 5
"This is some nice stuff. Great price and it's a great target shooting round. I fired 122 from my first batch. Only reason I gave it 4 bullets instead of 5 was because I was a bit disappointed that there were some steel casings in them."

"Fired 1000 rds thru Ruger SR9 and S&W MP9 only had 1 fail to feed."

"I have a Springfield EMP.. Me and a buddy of mine split a 1000 rounds last year and I went through all 500 rounds problem free. Early this year 2011 we decided to split another box of 1000 9mm. Now I get at least 2 double feeds every 50 rounds. Many times after the round fires the cartridge get stuck so hard in the chamber you need to tap it out from the front end with a brass rod. I thought for the longest it was my gun till I started reading very similar problems on CTD. Using a digital caliper I have found the cartridges seem to have bellies through.. What happened Bvac? You all at one time had a great product.. Now I have 300 rounds I can't use thx..(strange note : my budy has a Kahr cw9 and does not seem to have a problem with them) BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK ........"

"I left a negative feedback here on 8/26/2011, when the first 200 rounds did not chamber and FTF. It was really bad. My 2 Glocks jammed every other round.I contacted BVAC and they were very supportive. They agreed to pay for return of 4000 rounds (4 heavy boxes!) for me for FREE! Yes, they paid for return shipping to check what was wrong with the ammo! Upon inspection they shot a few Glocks, etc. with my ammo and found no problems. And I believe them. However, they agreed to exchange it for me. Yes, they also paid for shipping of new 4 boxes. I could not be more satisfied!I have now shot 1000+ rounds from a new shipment and there is ZERO jams, FTF or FTEs. All rounds cycle properly. I can recommend these FMJ rounds to anyone. At least the most recent shipments."
5.0 5
"A follow up to my previous feedback (below): 3000+ rounds shot. - 5 double feeds , most of those are probably my gun. I can't confirm it is because of this ammo.- 1 double feed because of the bad bullet quality (overmolded on top of the casing). QC problem. So it's only 1-2 bad rounds out of 3000+. Not bad. Glocks \"eat\" this ammo. If your gun is more sensitive, well, get a different ammo or a gun. :)Another reason any gun might not cycle properly is not enough recoil support by the shooter. In other words, the gun jumps when shooting and rounds may jam. Especially smaller guns. The only cure to that is to manage recoil and shoot smoother."

"Ran about 200 rounds through my brand new Gen 4 Glock 19. I fired off some other brand's new rounds first which had some issues due to break-in of the weapon, but after 40-50 rounds I mixed new brass and these and didn't have any issues. There are nickle plated brass reloads mixed in (not steel, not magnetic) but they are reloadable brass and cycled fine. COL is a little longer than some new rounds, but these have consistent COL. I bought BVAC reloads before and never had any issues."

"I've been checking this ammo out here for some time and finally made the decision to buy some when I saw it available. Shot 300 rounds thru my Glock G34 today and not one problem. Actually thought they my groupings were more consistent then some of the other ammo I have bought for more money. Great ammo will buy more........."
5.0 5
"Yesterday I fed the Glock 19 with 100 rounds without a hitch. I also finally went through the box and divided the ammo into 200 round ammo cans and came up +2! Brass & bullet look nice & shiny as well. Looking forward to shooting the rest,..maybe buy the full size Glock 9mm to go through the ammo quicker =). I'll write a final review when I've gone through the rest."

"I fired 200 rounds through my Walther PPQ 9mm and not a single problem. Great for chewing up paper and having some fun. Had a few steel cased rounds."
2.0 5
"Not very good, doesn't feed well, seems underpowered. I can hear a difference in these and other, new rounds I shoot. A few cases had burrs and one got jammed in the chamber. Would not recomment or buy again. The BVAC in 45, on the other hand, has been great. Just stay away from the 9mm."
4.0 5
"I just shot 500 rounds through my Beretta Px4 and had not one issue! I inspected each round as I packed them into 50 round ammo boxes and did not see any problems whatsoever. They seemed to go where I pointed the gun, and I got nice groups at 25 yards. I had no FTF or FTE. I would have rated this a 5, but it is a little dirty, but not too bad though. Just give your gun a little TLC after the range and all will be OK. I will buy this ammo again. This is perfect paper-busting ammo. I wouldn't use it to save my life, but you shouldn't use reloads for that purpose anyway. Great ammo!"

"I have shot 2 boxes of 1000 rounds for BVAC 9mm through my HK P30 with not a single failure to feed, fire or eject. The ammo is a bit dirty, but is accurate and reliable in my setup. Recommended."
5.0 5
"First off, this is just a great price for the ammo. I had a few FTF, but for the price, it's worth it for training. Another plus is that it's brass and the price of brass is high. I got a lot of my money for policing up my rounds. Get this. Simple as that."
5.0 5
"I have 1000+ rounds of this stuff down range through various pistols and have had no problems whatsoever. Cycles fine for practice with a Walther PPS, and runs fine in my Glock. Just put 100 through a Keltec Sub 2000, which ran great and shot nice tight groups. I clean my guns after each range session, so the 'dirty' complaint is not much concern to me. However, I have not noticed any difference in this regard compared to other budget ammo I've run."

"I am glad I bought this ammo! I am a few hundred rounds in and no FTF or FTE. CTD please start stocking more of this so I can buy more without having to backorder!"

"I am having the same problems as some of the other 1 bullet reviews on here. The cases on some of these haven't been resized and get stuck in the barrel and won't fully chamber, causing the slide to get stuck. This happened to a friend of mine on his PF9. He had to hammer it out from the front of the barrel. I had no problems firing out of my Glock 17 on that day. Later, the same thing happened to me on my DB9. Luckily, I was able to extract the cartridge. I thought I would stick to firing these rounds through my Glock. Well, yesterday the same thing happened to me that happened to my friend on his PF9. The slide stuck and the case was stuck halfway chambered. We had to pull back on the slide while taking a pencil and tapping gently on the bullet from the front of the barrel to extract the case. My friend then instructed me to field strip and place the problem cartridge into the barrel. Guess what - it didn't fit. I then started going through my remaining 750 or so rounds and hand fed them into my disassembled Glock barrel. 37 (or about 5%) either would not fully seat in the barrel or had to be pushed with considerable force to fit and then extracted by hand with some effort. About the same number seated snugly but would not fall back out with gravity alone and needed just a gentle amount of force to extract by hand. The remainder slipped in and out of the barrel fine. I bought two 1000 round boxes. I then opened the unopened box and started to go through those rounds. Those were much better and after about 150-200 that went in and out fine, I decided that box was okay (only 2 or 3 out of those seated snugly but came out with a little help by hand). The first box (of bad ammo) had markings of \"GU\" in the lower left corner and \"KS\" in the lower right hand corner. The second box (good ammo) had \"ARM\" in the lower left and \"KS\" in the lower right. Don't know if these are initials or not, but if they are, \"GU\" needs to be fired or supervised more closely. "I thought I would try a box of these. My results depended on the gun: Luger - fed and shot flawlessly; P-1 - fed and shot flawlessly; Glock - stovepiped multiple times; C-96 - some stovepiping and failure to feed completely, but worked better as the day went on [NOTE: this gun is 90+ years old and this is my first time shooting it since getting it (I didn't tear it down and lube it first. I trusted the guy I got it from, so I suspect that it just needed 'warming up')]. In general, I suspect that your results will depend on the gun you are shooting. Some are pickier than others."

"I have submitted my 3rd order for yet another 1000 rounds. I have written many reviews for BVAC. These guys are really trying to provide the best available product, yet make a reasonable profit on the product. Tough to do. However, I think they are creating the right balance. This just benefits us (die hard shooters) who are looking for vendors who can provide the BEST possible value. I am a big supporter. Thank you, BVAC."
5.0 5
"I read the reviews before I purchased this ammo. This is the second time buying this ammo. First time I used it in a steel match and it worked great and I didn't have one issue. The next two cases I bought will be used in a steel match in the fall. Will buy two or three cases for next year. Only one problem and it's that CTD can't seem to keep it in stock (always on backorder), but it's worth the wait."

"Purchased this ammo on 7/25 and it arrived FedEx the next day. Truly an amazing job by the Cheaper Than Dirt team. Can't wait to shoot it!"

"This is a great deal. I received exactly 1000 rounds. I didn't have a single dud in the box. Slow fire. Rapid fire. My Glocks ate this stuff up. This stuff is a little dirtier than never fired ammo, but who cares. If you are a volume shooter and you care about what your ammunition costs, then buy this."
1.0 5
"Well, I previously wrote a 1 bullet review on this product because I had issues with the ammo being too fat to fit in the barrels. I contacted BVAC and they had me ship a case back and they sent me a replacement case of ammo. Today, I went to the range to shoot my Glock 26 and Glock 17. I opened up the new case of ammo and loaded a bunch of magazines. I shot my Glock 26 first and I had one failure to extract in the first 10 round mag. Then, in the second round of my second mag, my slide jammed. Guess what, same problem as before. The round was too fat to fully seat in the barrel and caused the slide to get stuck. I had to put a pen in the front of the barrel and gently tap it while pulling back on the slide to get it out. I field stripped the gun and tried putting the extracted round in the barrel and it sat about 5mm proud. I can't believe that BVAC is continuing to sell this product without adequate quality control. Now I will have to go through each round, one by one, and test to make sure it fits in the barrel. I will never buy from BVAC again."

"Was very excited about the price. However, once I started firing with my Ruger SR9C (first 50 rounds), I became very bummed. I had, on average, 2-3 jams per every 10 round mag and 6 misfires, in fact total duds, out of the 200 rounds I eventually fired. The only reason I gave a second bullet is the price. With that being said, however, I can buy new Winchester or Federal 9mm target loads elsewhere for the same price, and my SR9C never jammed with over 500 rounds of those guys. You get what you pay for. I put all the blame on myself not being a more educated consumer. I'm not sure if everyone else who has left a good review is getting lucky or I just got an unlucky case. Probably won't buy BVAC again. Buyer Beware."

"Great ammo, no problems. No Smoke. Sig P226 had no problem with it, not one dud."

"Great value here. 1000 rounds for this price? Whew! Can't ask for better than that. I shoot this ammo for practice at least three times a week. I have had no issues at all, no fat cases, no duds, and no jams on my G34. It is a fantastic buy. I hope the supply keeps up with my demand. Thanks, CTD. Things like this are why my first stop is always your site."

"I received one batch that was not to spec and failed to feed and eject. Apparently, BVAC is under new ownership. Not sure what this means for quality."
4.0 5
"I shot 400+ rounds of this out of my CZ 2075 RAMI and shared another 100 or so with friends to shoot out of their various 9mm pistols and we all had no problems and no jams. This is obviously not high end ammo, but for the price, it gets the job done well."

"I thought it was maybe the gun (Beretta 92fs). But, when using other ammo, I have no issues. When using this, I have nothing but issues. I might as well throw the last 500 rds. Tried and tried to make sure it wasn't another issue but to no avail. Do not waste your money. FTL and FTE like you read about."

"I bought these a year and a half ago. Just cracked it open a few weeks ago. They work great in my Taurus PT92 (Beretta 92 clone). Accuracy was fine and they aren't that dirty. I only fired 96 rounds out of the box. I normally do more shooting than that. Once I run out, I'll definitely be buying more."

"My husband and I will not buy ammo anywhere else. Price is good. Rounds are great. We have a Beretta 92 and have never had a misfire or any problems. Love it!"

"I took this to a couple classes and over two weeks, shot about 1500 rounds through an FNX-9. I'm making no claim of this stuff being match grade ammo. Its accuracy is practical though. You can make fist size groups with it at 15 yards as long as you do your part. It went bang every time I pulled the trigger and cycled the gun like it was supposed to. I didn't have any malfunctions related to ammo in the 1500ish rounds that I popped off. If you want match grade stuff or high end defensive ammo, then shell out the money for it. I had no issues with this ammo at all."
