The Product Technician is responsible for providing support to internal and external customers via the telephone, email, and Live Chat software.  The Product Technician is also responsible for verifying that products carried by Cheaper Than Dirt! have properly formatted web content, image, data, and are categorized correctly.  Additional tasks can and will be assigned as needed. 


  • Work an eight hour schedule five days per week and adhere to assigned start/end times, break and lunch schedules in accordance with department attendance policies

  • Be available to accurately answer questions from internal and external customers via telephone, email and Chat software during scheduled work hours

  • Accurately identify products from distributor and manufacturer information in a timely manner

  • Research product features and specifications using the Internet, Intranet and print sources

  • Write descriptions in accordance with documented quality standards with original content that is informative, insightful, and intriguing, with correctly formatted images for web use

  • Adhere to documented department quality standards for customer interactions both verbally and written

  • Identify customer needs and make proper recommendations and offer insight in a positive and helpful manner across all communication lines


  • Extensive firearms experience including firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories

  • Good understanding of general outdoor equipment, hunting gear, and other accessories

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to type 25 wpm

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, MS IE, MS Outlook, HTML, and Adobe Photoshop

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma and relevant work experience

Cheaper Than Dirt is seeking a Content Writer with SEO expertise. The ideal candidate will be able to write compelling product marketing copy to engage with our audience and aid in making purchase decisions and taking what can be highly technical details and translating them into meaningful information for the lay person. Knowledge of firearms, survival, and outdoor recreation a plus, but a willingness to research and learn to provide the most accurate information for our customers is paramount.

The Content Writer will produce content for use on CheaperThanDirt.com in a variety of areas including product descriptions, marketing display copy, landing pages, infographics, and knowledge-base articles (e.g. tips and tricks). Keyword usage data, keyword banks, and related SEO research will be regular components of the copywriting in this role, in addition to standard grammar rules and adoption of brand voice.

Strong organizational and self-editing skills are vital to success in this role. The SEO Content Writer role will work with our SEO Manager and report directly to the Director of Ecommerce.


  • Write clear, concise and convincing marketing copy that is grammatically and factually accurate

  • Consult necessary sources to provide the most accurate information on our products

  • Work with SEO Manager and other key team members to develop content to meet key SEO goals and needs including creative strategies, content flow processes, and deadlines.

  • Ensures all content is current, relevant, and aligns with Cheaper Than Dirt’s goals

  • Maintain best practices and use of Cheaper Than Dirt style guidelines

The Customer Service Representative II is responsible for providing inbound sales and support to customer inquiries via the phone, email and online chat. Working in a fast paced high volume environment, the Customer Service Rep is responsible for maintaining the process flow of orders by acting as a liaison in problem solving, research and problem/dispute resolution. Must be able to resolve customer issues and complete sales orders accurately and independently.  In addition the Customer Service Representative must proactively communicate with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.


  • Accepts and places orders from inbound customer calls.

  • Answer and resolve issues received via the phone, email and online chat regarding purchases, deliveries, returns, and product usage using excellent customer service skills.

  • Evaluates customer request and ensures proper action is taken.
