Glock’s 33-Round 9mm Magazine — Practical and Tactical

While there are floorplates and such that add up to a 19-round magazine, in the Glock 9mm the 33-round magazine is the grand-daddy of them all. Unlike most competitors and cheap imitations, the Glock magazine features a steel insert that promotes both strength and feeding, and that merely scratches the surface of why the Glock magazine excels above the rest.

Shotgun Drills: Semi-Automatics

The automatic shotgun demands different drills for speed loading than a pump-action shotgun. Proper practice with automatic shotgun and you may just find that the shotgun is more efficient than you thought. If there is any real problem beginning students have, it is a lack of familiarity with the firearm. These drills will build familiarity with the shotgun and may be a lifesaver.

Home Defense Shotguns for Less and Free Ammo!

Many people believe that the shotgun is the best tool for home defense. Shotguns are easy to use, powerful enough to stop a bad guy in one or two shots and do not require a lot of maintenance. Tactical or home defense shotguns are usually black matte finished and have a pistol grip stock. Some choose a semiautomatic for quicker cycling and some choose the reliable pump-action. These four home defense shotguns from Cheaper Than Dirt! all offer great value for the money.

22 Uses for Tactical Operator’s Bag

I usually find it quite difficult to find more than two uses out of most military surplus equipment. Designed to fulfill a specific need, gas masks and weapons gear top my list of favorite collectables. However, neither really are useful beyond its single purpose. Once and awhile, though a product comes along that is so versatile, I can’t pass it up—such as the tactical operator’s case. I’ve come up with 22 different uses. What about you?

Weatherby’s PA-459 TR 20 gauge pump-action shotgun has an 18.5-inch, chrome-lined barrel threaded for chokes. You will be hard-pressed to find this feature on any other tactical-style shotgun. The pistol grip, black matte synthetic stock naturally shoulders for a quick point of aim. Upgraded sights on the PA-459 make target acquisition quick and easy.

Like a Hot Knife Through Butter: Rock Island M5 Smooth As Silk Pump-Action Shotgun

With one look, experienced shotgunners will probably want to ask, “Just tell me. Is it a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500 clone?” On the contrary, Rock Island Armory’s M5 pump-action shotgun is neither. The M5 is actually based on the underrated, now obsolete High Standard Manufacturing Flite-King pump-action shotguns. High Standard used to market its shotguns as the “world’s fastest firing pump-action shotguns.” They eject by gravity alone. Sounds crazy, but flip the M5 upside down, click the slide release and it does just that.

Rock Island 1911A1 and Tactical .45—Range Report

Fans of Rock Island Armory’s 1911 handguns affectionately refer to their pistol of choice as ‘The Rock.’ This nickname is appropriate and valid. These are reliable handguns and if they do not win a beauty contest, well, we don’t call the 1911 ‘Old Ugly’ for nothing.
