Winter Preparedness: Building Your List

There are three layers of preparedness outside of the home: Vehicle, Every Day Carry, and extended. This article touches on all three; however, the distinction between each is important. Vehicles have ample space and carrying capacity, so you can set and forget certain items in the trunk or under a seat. Everyday carry is the exact opposite of that. Each item needs to be judged versus space, weight, likelihood of use, and importance in an emergency.

Terrorism on American Soil—Are You Prepared?

The Islamic State posted a video on Nov. 16 promising an attack on Washington D.C. In the video, a man identified as Al Ghareeb said, “I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before.” Terrorists will strike anywhere, at anytime.
