SHOT Show 2014 — Hands on Remington’s R51

When I picked up the R51, it fit snugly in my hand while feeling better than most compact concealable pocket pistols. My pinky didn’t fall off the end of the grip and the sights were easy to see. The gun is considerably thin, while not feeling like I’m holding an uncomfortable wafer thin piece of cardboard. Will this handgun live up to the hype?

The Birth of the .44 Mag. Cartridge

Ever heard of the Smith & Wesson NT-430? However, “Dirty Harry” ensured it would always have a place in firearm history, but he wasn’t the only champion of the Model 29 and the .44 Mag.

What Makes a Varmint Rifle?

The standard varmint rifle fills a gap between small .22 LR rimfire rifles and larger deer calibers. It is a sort of sweet spot where you get decent range, accuracy and flat trajectory all in one package.
