1.0 Rating Leaking waste of money - 5/3/2014
Reviewer: HurricaneC.
This is a piece of junk. It may filter well, but you won't get to drink any of it. There is no seal or gasket where the hose passes through the lid- so it leaks. It also leaks where the housing is attached to the vinyl bladder. Unless you have lots of time, patience, and silicone sealant you'll be wasting your money.

4.0 Rating Survival is Sacrifice - 3/17/2012
Reviewer: Ron
I bought 2 of these and 2 extra filters. They seem to be good construction. The first thing you should do is fill it with water and WITHOUT THE TUBE INSTALLED and let it leak into a sink for about 1/2 an hour. I learned that with the first one. The filters like any other carbon filter let some charcoal dust through at first. You don't want that in your tube; practically impossible to get the stuff out. The downside to these is that you have to suck REALLY HARD to get any water out. I still give it 4 stars though because it is so simple and quick to get water from sources you don't know to be safe. As a previous reviewer stated, when it is in your pack or vest - you feel the filter. I recommend this product, but don't buy it unless you have an idea what you're getting into. It is a survival item not a bladder you fill at the closest sink for a hike.

4.0 Rating Good bladder - 12/31/2011
Reviewer: Evan
While I haven't used this item yet it seems fairly well made. You can get a similar bladder for half the price but you won't get the filter which by itself costs ten dollars. It seems like it would work well in a pack and protect you from most waterborne illnesses. However it is a bit uncomfortable to put in a plate carrier because the small plastic nozzle that the drinking tube connects to will jab you in the back.
