|If you expect to have a confrontation with an enemy force that may take cover behind brick walls, vehicles, etc. then that's what I'd think this ammo is built for. In my testing, this ammo will penetrate over 1/4" steel at 200m+, car engines, and brick walls. I can't say with any confidence/good conscious standard 5.56mm ammo is any good for the above purposes. In fact, I'd say it's just worthless. I wouldn't want to put my life on anything less than the M855, as I'm former military (infantry), so believe me that I'm giving sound advice.
I'd like to deny that this ammo is any good and just horde it for myself, but people are buying it up at any cost because they know it's the best, even if it's XM855 (rejected for military/battlefield use - designated training only/dump on the civilian market).
If you're just looking for some rounds for target practice or against a single home invader, please don't buy this ammo and let others have the opportunity to buy it who have more serious purposes in mind, such as SHTF scenarios. Also, always sight your weapon in with the ammo you primarily intend to use, or else accuracy will suffer in unpredictable ways. Also, the M855 round is designed to be used with the M856 when needed for tracing a path to the target at night, whether it be personal, vehicles, or aircraft.|
