|I have been shooting this stuff as practice ammo for some time now and was a bit suspicious of it. It always felt a good bit lighter than other .357 Mag ammo I have shot. Eventually I got a chrono, fired a cylinder full over it, and found out why. Out of a 4" revolver six rounds averaged 778fps at 10 ft from the muzzle. That is pathetic when the factory advertises at rating of 1150 fps. Most .38 Special ammo is hotter than this stuff.
The other issue I have with it is that the aluminum cases tend to hand when trying to extract them. I hardly ever have this problem with brass cases.
Given all of that, I cannot recommend this ammo for anything other than trigger practice. Because it shoots so light, you can send a lot of it downrange without much fatigue. I think it's worthless for self defense carry or training because it's weak and it hangs on extraction. I only bought it for so long because I wasn't reloading then and it was cheaper than anything else out there. However, there are now better deals to be had these days with some brands of brass-cased ammo.|
