5.0 Rating Great - 3/9/2014

Finding a shell that is right for your gun is half the battle. After years of using Remington 12ga 2 3\4 1oz slugs in my sons Remington 1100, on a whim i tried some 7/8 oz. Wow... the impact and knockdown power are something you have to see to believe.. Since trying these I switched my browning to these as well. Bottom line is, Last 6 bucks shot, 5 went straight down. The other went 40 yards. Oh, and by the way, the entrance and exit holes look like a cannon hit it.

1.0 Rating Waste of Money! - 1/15/2010

I purchased 14 boxes the other day without ever trying the ammo first. NEVER AGAIN! Always try a few rounds of ammo if you have not used it before you go out and buy a sh#$load. I shot 10 shots out of my 870 pump with a Nikon shotgun scope. The rounds were all over the target, some as far as 10 - 12 inches from the bull at 50 yards. Most shots seemed to go high to the left. When I fired my 2 3/4 regular 1600 Winchester slugs I was either in the bull or 1-2 inches from it. Not to bash the Remington round but it just seems that the extra powder throws this slug all over the place. I also tried the 3 inch slugger by Remington. They were slightly better than the HV but still not trustworthy enough. I have not tried Remington's regular 2 3/4 slugs at 1600. I'm sure that round would be just fine. The moral here is if you want more than 1600 velocity out of your rifled slug, switch to a rifled barrel and or just a rifle with a real bullet!

Used these in my Franchi Auto Loader. Pin Point Hits at 50 yard. Less than two inch groupings. And 3 inch groupings at 75 Yards Using Iron Sights. Made a Kill Zone Circle for a deer and posted it at 100 Yards and placed 5 out of 5 in the Kill Zone.

tried a box of these today from my 870. barrel #4622 sighted in at 50 yards with the rem. slugger slugs. regulars not low recoil or magnums. fired 2 they went 2 inches low at 25 yards. center but low. adjusted sights up a little. fired 1 it hit 2 inches above center and a 1/2 inch to the left. at 25 yards. fired 2 at 50 yards they went 2 inches left. and 1 inch low of center. i am getting another 2 boxes to try and finalize sights. recoil was ok. am going to use for back up hunting ammunition.
