1.0 Rating Does not thread correctly - 8/30/2012
Reviewer: S Schuler
I don't know of this is a hit or miss, but I obtained a miss. Following directions were easy, but the problem I faced is that the threads on the extender tube were a tad larger then the threads on the shotgun's tube. So the mag extension does not tighten down onto the barrel. After loading 6-7 shells into the chamber, it just flew off, so I not even curious to know what would happen if iI shoot it. I am unsure what to do at this point since its the object that holds the barrel on.

5.0 Rating ATI, Rem 870 Tube extension - 8/24/2012
Reviewer: JLyons
Yes, you have to modify the shotguns tube by drilling out or sanding down the two detents at the end of the tube, otherwise the follower and shotshells cannot pass it. I did this with just a dremel and a small sanding drum. I pushed a small wad of tissue in the tube to keep the filings from going down the tube at all. I just sand off the lugs/detents until the follower slips past them easily. My 870 actually ended up with +3 not +2 from this so with the 18" barrel and this +2 adapter I hold 7+1=8. It looks great and feels sturday. I did put the 3-1015862 Mag/barrel clamp, but I don't think you would have to. The extension was about 3/4" shorter than the barrel, it is perfect. Functioned flawlessly. Now its an 18" powerhouse that holds 8.

5.0 Rating How to use - 6/13/2012
Reviewer: Camilion4
OK. I hear a lot of people hating on this product and they have no ideal of what to do with it. First, take your barrel nut off. After that, pull out the follower with a flat head screw driver, then the spring. Now, what the people above are missing is you have to take a drill and a sanding bit, or a round file, and sand down both follower stops inside the old mag tube. Put your finger in the mag tube and you will feel a lump on both sides. Get a light and sand them both down to smooth, place the follower and then the new spring in the original mag tube, and replace the barrel. Now, attach the new mag ext and you are cooking with 7 shots that will not bind up. You can buy some liquid gun bluing and rub it on to color match if you like a pretty shot gun, but in the end you cannot see it inside the tube. Granted, directions would have helped those who do not know any better, but do some research prior to slamming a cheap, great product folks. Keep shooting. P.S. - the ones that cost more are the same. They just have directions.

1.0 Rating Do NOT buy - 5/25/2012
Reviewer: Karch10
I was putting it on, did everything necessary for the install (loaded all the rounds and set it down), and it seemed all good. I picked it up and it shot off the end of the magazine and took the barrel clamp with it. This is one of the biggest wastes of my money. Don't buy.

1.0 Rating crap - 5/15/2012
Reviewer: annoyed
I installed this on my brand new Remington 870 Super Mag and when I got to the 5th round, the spring coiled back on itself. When I removed the tube extender, the spring flew out and almost hit me in the face. I untangled the spring and tried loading rounds in two more times. The same thing happened both times. Now the spring is bent and doesn't work at all. Waste of money.
