3.0 Rating You have to know what to do with them! - 2/21/2013
Reviewer: Rugerp89man
I bought this because I was attracted by the price, and I noticed another CTD customer said these worked in later model p89s. Upon delivery, I opened the box and slid it into my weapon. I pulled the slide back and all seemed well until I pulled the release down and the slide caught on the magazine. I was a little disappointed because I thought I bought a dud, but upon some examination, I noticed that the back of the magazine was catching on the slide right under the firing pin. So I took a sharpening stone that I use for my knives and filed that particular part down then cleaned it with some Rem Oil and now the mag works like a dream. Shot about 100 rounds of Tula with this mag and zero ftfs or ftes. 2 bullets for having to modify the mag and an extra because of the superb shipping (I chose the $6 surepost and it got here in 3 days, even though it says 7 - 10 days).

1.0 Rating Do Not Buy These - 2/17/2013
Reviewer: Starman
I purchased four of these mags for my P95s. I have experienced the same issues as others, i.e., misfeeds, double feeds, gun locking halfway open, magazines getting stuck, slide locking back on mag with one or more rounds left. Bottom line, these are not reliable, and therefore junk.

4.0 Rating Decent for non-factory - 12/8/2012
Reviewer: Sparky
I ordered one of these, even after reading other reviews. I own a newer model P89 (has the updated Ruger logo under the chamber). Mag shoots well, no FTF or FTE issues that others report. I would order another ONLY after doing some more testing to see if this one acts up. The only gripe is the floor plate doesn't sit flush with the frame like the factory mags do. It does catch the mag release well but has some spring to it, like the mag didn't seat all the way. I also did what someone else suggested - right out of the box, I loaded it fully and let it sit for about a month before taking it out and testing it. For a spare on the cheap, it works. I would still prefer to go with factory mags for reliability reasons.

2.0 Rating Not quality - 9/25/2012

After receiving this, I went out and shot about 50rds thru it with my P95. The magazine fed every round perfectly. When I then tried to eject, the magazine would get stuck and cause my slide to jam half way. If it weren't for that, I would have given it 4 bullets.

3.0 Rating There's a trick to these - 6/6/2012
Reviewer: The Mad Scientist
There is a trick to these. I purchased a few of these, knowing the risk, but I figured ProMag would most likely make good if they didn’t work. The first time I used them, I would get one or two FTFs or double feeds in my P95 per 15 rounds. I was using TulAmmo. I figured it was maybe the steel cased ammo, so I used some brass ammo and had the same amount of failures, except they were all double feeds. I let them sit for a month or two with 15 rounds in each to compress the spring. Ever since then, they have worked flawlessly with steel and brass cases. I always store them fully loaded and have had no issues since.

1.0 Rating Bad Buy - 12/26/2011
Reviewer: edwardj
Not very pleased with these Mags. Plenty of failure to feeds and several double feeds, plus the second to last rounds on both mags I bought locked the slide to the rear with one more round in the magazine ... The factory magazine doesn't do any of this. Bought because of price ... Know better now.
