|I was carrying a Glock 19 and wanted something a little slimmer for certain occasions in which the bulky Glock wouldn't be ideal. I did a ton of research and found that Kahr was the most reliable of these "pocket guns." And with the price of the CM9, I decided to give it a shot.
I took it to the range right after I picked it up from my FFL. I had only one malfunction (if you can even call it that) in the first 200 rounds. On the last shot, the slide failed to lock back. After those 200 rounds, I fired another 200 and didn't have a single issue. Of course, I was using cheap range ammo (WWB and Federal) and it ate all of them up.
It is a very fun gun to shoot and is pretty accurate. I felt that it shot a little high, but I'm still mastering my hold and trigger control. That could also be attributed to the cheap ammo. Perhaps I'll try some 147 grain and see if that helps. The trigger is very smooth, but will take some getting used to, when coming from a Glock. There's no cut-and-dry break point, so trigger control is crucial.
The recoil is very manageable, but after shooting 400 rounds through it, I fired a few rounds from my Glock and it felt like a .22 pistol! The Kahr is definitely a little snappy, but again, very manageable.
All in all, it was an excellent purchase and I'm looking forward to practicing more, so I can begin to carry it daily. A gun this size really expands the carry options for any situation (shorts, sweats, jeans, suite, etc.)|
