I purchased this gas tube and after an hour of VERY careful fitting, it was on my Norinco and it was on TIGHT! As I have no use for rails, I removed it and just use the tube. 300 rounds later it was still as tight as it was when I installed it. If your pretty good with tools and patient, this is a superb gas tube. I'm well pleased!

It dropped right in on my Yugo. Have put 500+ rounds through with no trouble. I would agree with other reviewers that if it does not fit right away to have a professional fit it for you.

After a little dremeling this fit well. It was just a hair to long for my Chinese SKS. It looks good though.

I had to file it a little to fit my Norinco. It took maybe 10-15 minutes, but thats to be expected. The real issue, and why I only give it 4 bullets, is that it wobbles back and forth like crazy. To fix this I cut a small rectancle piece out of the side of an aluminum can about 1-3/8" x 3/8". I bent it into a U shape around the bottom of the gas tube on the back and this fixes it almost completely. There is still just a hair of movement, but a slightly thicker piece from the bottom of the can should fix that. It looks great with the TruGlo 2x red dot mounted on it I bought this because I could not remove the wood from my gas tube to make it match my stock.

Its almost there! The problem is you have to file a little, by little, by little, off the butt end of it to get it to fit (Russian Model). Once I got the lock closed,I thought I was good to go but then I went and dropped a 20 mag through it fast enough to get the barrel too hot to touch. That caused too much play with this tube to hold my red dot stable for long range fire. It was good enough for 50 - 100 feet though! I'd say the hot play was around .5 cm side to side. This could be my fault in filing too much of the square off the butt. I just tried to match the tube coming off. Anyway, be prepared with a good file! CTD sellls them for 10 bucks and they're worth it. Also, be patient with this file! I went back and forth, fitting and filing, a dozen times and still missing the proper tolerance. Anyway, the price is right and I would'nt spend the extra money for the Tapco tube. This one is certainly good enough to mount a cheap red dot on a 50 year old Soviet milled rifle.
