Braided nylon parachute cord, with seven strands of nylon liner, can be used for fishing, snares, or sewing. The soft braided outer shell is durable yet cushioned, allowing this cord to be flexible so it is the perfect wrap for knife handles, spears, and survival gear. Mil-spec standard USA production and super quality.

Parachute cord, also called paracord or 550 cord, is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during World War II. It is now used as a general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians. The braided sheath has a high number of interwoven strands for its size, giving it a relatively smooth texture. The all nylon construction makes paracord fairly elastic.

US Military issue paracord is specified the MIL-C-5040H standard. The Mil-Spec specifies six types: I, IA, II, IIA, III, IV. Type III, the most common, is nominally rated with a minimum breaking strength of 550 pounds, thus the term "550 cord". The US military specification for paracord contains specific denier figures for the sheath strands and inner yarns, but there are no overall diameter requirements for the cord.

One of the best cord we have ever used. We have American Pit Bull Terriers. We strung a 75 foot section between 2 trees to be tried as a dog runner. Not 1, but 3 APBT dogs on the line at once. The metal clips are showing wear from our "excited" exercising pit bulls, but no wear on the line. The line has been up for two whole years going through hot summers and extreme cold winters. Extremely impressive cord.

This is by far the best paracord I have ever bought. I use it on everything all the time, from wrapping knife handles to sewing amd everything in between. I bought it about a year ago and it still looks like new, despite everything I've done with it. buying more soon for sure.
