| I had previously bought a bag at a store that I THOUGHT was this bag, but turned out to be something else. This bag has great padding on the back and with the two main, big compartments. I can separate what I need easily between big things. My previous bag was one big compartment with lots of smaller outside ones, which was OK, but if you have to find something in the big compartment you might as well dump everything out. The zippers also go all the way down to the bottom, which comes in use when loading. Like everyone else has said, this bag is a little bit smaller than you would probably want for a bug out bag. Even though it says three day assault pack, I can't imagine stuffing other pairs of clothing, and then tools/items for the "assault." I currently use the back big section for clothing (2 pairs), the other big one for food (2 big MRE and 2 Mountain House), and then have all my personal commodities in the top front bag (toothbrush, deodorant, etc.). In the front bigger pouch, I put tools (glow stick, multi tool, and other things). Overall great bag. You won't be able to fit a lot of big, bulky clothing or fat MREs into it without taking up almost all your room. I was hoping there would be side areas to attach the ranger stove, but there isn't really any room besides the bottom, which is where I put my bedspread. If you have a motorcycle or something and want a nice pack for going from point A to B within one or two days, this would be perfect. For a multiple day excursion, this may be too small. |
