After searching for an original Bayonet for some time, and finding the prices to be really high ($100+) I decided to settle on a repop bayonet to round off my M1 and WWII Infantryman's Gear. This exact bayonet was a lot higher at a Military Surplus show, so when I saw it here for half the price and I jumped on it. The Bayonet itself I am pleased with. Solid construction, hard to tell its not an original. Fits my 4 mill Garand with no modifications needed. It's only slightly lose (where an original on the same gun was totally solid). I will probably end up replacing the handles with originals. Overall I am pleased but not thrilled. The Scabbard should be thrown out, or not even included. It's TOTALLY wrong in every way. Wrong color... it needs to be darker. Wrong material... Originals are made of hard cardboard coated with plastic-ish stuff, and the band at the top is metal. The Scabbard included is all plastic. I also had to modify the hook so it fits on an original M1 cartridge belt.

This is a very good reproduction but not functional. I have two Garands, it locks on one but needs to be tapped off with a light hammer. It does not lock onto the other. Such a good reproduction could easily be machined correctly at the channel if the manufacturer cared to do so. Don't buy it unless you are prepared to do some machine work yourself or you just want a decoration at a very good price.

It is a good solid bayonet and good craftmanship, HOWEVER, it didn't fit on my Garand. It did slip on but did not lock into place. I strictly use it for decoration now.

After reviewing various options on a bayonet for my mint condition M1 Garand, I took a chance on this reproduction bayonet and scabbard. I am completely pleased with the purchase. It looks original, fit my Garand like a glove, came with a quality scabbard, and left me extra $$$ to pick up more accessories for the rifle. I own two Garands and will be ordering another one soon. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in completing their M1 Garands equipment, and doesn't want to spend 2 to 3 times the money.
