The US Model 1942 Springfield Bayonet was issued for both the 1903 Springfield rifle and the M1 Garand rifle, serving for four decades until it was finally replaced during WW II. The high quality steel blade is 16" in length, 21.5" overall length, with single stopped fuller on both sides, a single cutting edge with a short false edge towards the spear point tip. Includes a high quality, black, reproduction scabbard. Fits The M1 Garand and 1903 Springfield Rifles. These bayonets are not sharpened, but are ready to take a quality edge. Imported

I was disapointed in the quality after purchasing the 9 3/4 inch. The 9 3/4 was made in china, rattles in scabbard, the 16" was made in India, quality was inferior(bayonet and scabbard) to China made(wow really, I know.) I was disapointed.

CTD offers a MGR-092 for $100 and a MGR-097 for $40. Both imported. Both Chinese? How do I know which is which? I'm at a loss. Paid for better quality, I thought. Bayonet I got is loose in the scabbard and rattles. The scabbard was chipped. Bayonet wouldn't fit on my M1 Garand or my M1903A3 due to poor machining of the bayonet slot and thick lacquer paint. After much filing, it fits loose on the Garand but still tight on the 1903. If you really must have one of these, save yourself $60 and buy the cheaper imported junk.

I'd rate the materials and workmanship on the bayonet as fair, but I wouldn't rate the scabbard anywhere near that good. The locking mechanism on the bayonet seems a bit flimsy, but at least it fits on my rifles. First time I drew the bayonet out of the scabbard, it wouldn't go back in. Turned out there was a piece of plastic lodged inside the scabbard. I had to fish it out with a piece of wire, and then things started working better. I was hoping for a better product, especially at this price.
