USGI M1 carbine type III sling and oiler. The oiler is designed to hold the end of the carbine sling in the buttstock while the other end attaches to the barrel band. This replica is nearly identical to the original government issue sling and oiler. Sling overall length is adjustable between 22" and 37.5", 1" width. Oiler specs : overall length 2.30 " , 0.44" diameter.

I have a vintage NPM Carbine with a fat pot belly stock, this sling and oiler is an inexpensive oriental reproduction, but it works. The oiler has an O-ring and holds the Mobile 1 synthetic well. The sling is OD Green and works, but the metal end will need pounded flat. Just put some 100 MPH tabe around it and pound it flat so it will fit through the stock. I also snapped the sling closed on the front mount and added taped the tail down with 100 MPH tape. It's not going anywhere. I like the sling, just place it on your over your shoulder and carry it to the range. An M1 Carbine was not designed to be carried in a fancy case to the range. This sling keeps the carbine in close contact. But it's a little difficult to get to the oiler sometimes.

Put this on a 1943 Correct Saginaw Gear Carbine. It fit perfectly and looks great. I recommend this to anyone wanting to put a correct War Era looking sling on their carbine.
