1.0 Rating doesn't eject at all - 11/24/2012
Reviewer: brianNH
This gun does not even come close to ejecting a lo-brass shell. After each shot, the empty case remains in the chamber, and the action must be cycled by hand. It does a bit better with a hi-brass shell, but doesn't eject it completely, and the empties get jammed between the bolt and the receiver. I didn't have any magnum shells around to try, but it appears that this gun needs quite stiff loads to drive the bolt back far enough and hard enough to eject an empty shell and pick up a new one. The shoulder pad is quite soft and "grabby" rubber. It will catch on any clothing it touches as you bring it up into your shoulder. It's nice that it's non-slip once it's in place, but not very reliable for getting the gun into position quickly. The manual gives no info on the included choke tubes or their use, so I had to use a micrometer to measure which ones had more choke and which ones had less choke. The handguards are quite narrow and quite tall. I'd have preferred it (and a better feel) if at least the bottom handguard had a bit more width at the bottom. I will call the manufacturer/distributor to see if I can get a fix for the Failure to Eject.

5.0 Rating Best Technology - 11/12/2013
Reviewer: Jeffery
I definitely like this shotgun. After the initial break-in period, which I used 5 boxes of Hornady's SST slugs rated at 2,000 FPS, it shoots just fine. I have found something by experimenting with different loads from different ammunition companies. Loads, regardless of hunting or target variety, need to be over 1,200 FPS. Loads at 1,150 FPS were hit or miss, anything below 1,150 FPS it would jam. The new magazines they shipped from the factory are PERFECT. Now, you don't have to find the 3" magazine to shoot 3" or vice versa; both mags are the same. I would serious recommend this shotgun to anyone looking for something like this.

5.0 Rating MKA1919- The other mag fed shotgun - 10/3/2012
Reviewer: Jay Dawg
For the buyer that is looking for a reasonably priced magazine fed semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun, the choices are slim. I was looking at the Saiga 12 against the MKA1919. The Saiga 12 bought in the "Sporting" configuration will need much time, money and work to get it to run reliably. I did a lot of research and I opted for the MKA1919. So far, I have only run a few mags through it, but it has run flawlessly. Many aftermarket parts are becoming available for the MKA1919 and the 10 round mags are in the works (Firebird Precision). The MKA1919 comes with three interchangeable choke tubes (Saiga does not), piccatinny rail, recoil pad, 2 five round mags and removable carry handle. The fit and finish is great and I look forward to more testing. Ordering from CTD was fast and easy. Shipping was extremely reasonable and I would not hesitate to order from them again.

5.0 Rating GREAT Gun - 11/26/2013
Reviewer: Fizzled
I have wanted this gun for a while. The price is what sold me this one at this time. I have made some nifty mods to it and it shoots well BUT it does not like standard 2 3/4 inch shell much unless they are high brass or magnums. You can change the recoil spring but that is a pain and there is another spacer option which will allow it to function better. OVERALL I love this thing and with a 10 rd mag it is AWESOME.

5.0 Rating AR-15 12GA Shotgun!! - 9/16/2012
Reviewer: Joey
This was my first purchase with and it all went perfectly. I called their customer service a couple times to get familiar with the process and it all went as planned. I ordered the MKA 1919 on Sunday night and picked my gun up from the FFL Dealer on Friday of the same week! The gun was a bit dirty internally from the test fire they did but it was all good. I took the MKA 1919 out shooting the same day I got it and it shot perfectly. I had a few feeding malfunctions, but it was during the 4 box break in period, so it's all good. The gun is awesome! My first Semi-Auto Shotgun and I wanted something new, different, and reliable, and the Akdal MKA 1919 is that gun! Everyone I've shown it to loves it and every time I take it out on the range, it get more and more reliable and consistent as it breaks in. LOVE THIS GUN!!
