Replicas of the originals used before AR-15's and rocket launchers were around! These cannons really fire using black powder and a fuse. Barrels are constructed of steel with a matte black finish and are chambered in .58 caliber. The base and wheels are constructed of composite material. The barrels tilt and the wheels turn, these can also shoot firecrackers!

Note: These are salute cannons only and are not intended for firing any type of projectile. Powder and fuse not included.

This little noise maker is okay. Just know that you can NOT shoot any projectiles from it. It is strictly a signal cannon or salute cannon. The price is very cheap for the good quality that it is. Be aware that the barrel is metal, but the wheels and carriage are plastic!

I bought the Kennesaw Field Cannon for my brother for Cristmas, he loves the civil war era. My nephews loved it when I mentioned that it can be fired by useing fire crackers.
4.0 Rating A nice little cannon, but.. - 12/22/2010Kennesaw Field Black Powder Cannon 8x4.5" .58 Caliber Steel Construction4.0000

This is a nice little cannon, however do not make the mistake I did and buy the .58 caliber round balls to shoot in this gun. I thought you could do this because on the page where it shows what other bought at the same time were .58 caliber round balls. After receiving the cannon and reading the instructions that come with it, it shows on the first page that it is a salute cannon. CTD does not make that clear. I checked with Kennesaw just to make sure. It is still a nice loud gun which is why I gave it 4 bullets. Now I guess I will have to buy a .58 black powder gun so the .58 round balls don't go to waste.
2.0 Rating Not worth it! - 12/21/2010Kennesaw Field Black Powder Cannon 8x4.5" .58 Caliber Steel Construction2.0000

Thought I might try the cannon out so I bought it while on sale. Thankful I didn't pay full price – NO, the Barrel isn't 8" long, the whole thing is 8" long. Not advised to buy it thinking it is a cool thing, it isn't!

This is fun, but shoot on a flat surface. I put some stops behind the wheels and it just did a couple backflips. Great fun.
