If you're looking for the best hunting and skinning knife, look no further than the Ka-Bar Potbelly. Large enough and balanced to be able to be used as a hatchet or machete, the Potbelly's multi-grip handle makes it nimble enough for use as a skinner. The highly swept blade gives you a longer cutting surface for making large clean cuts. Flat Dark Earth scales set off the hollow ground 1095 cro-van blade and Ka-Bar's aggressively textured Adventure grip gives you positive control even in wet conditions. Knife made in the U.S.A.

Included with the knife is the Adventure sheath, which has belt loops at two different belt carry heights and multiple MOLLE attachment points. In addition, it also has an integral sheath to carry the smaller piggyback knife (included). A stuff sack on the front of the sheath includes 8 feet of Adventure cord and is also handy for carrying latex gloves, fishing gear, light sticks, water purification tablets or anything else your adventure requires. Sheath is imported.

I can't say enough good things about this knife. It's big, and on the heavy side. But it's a hatchet, machete, and survival knife all in one. Heck of a chopper, shaving sharp out of the box, and pretty easy to keep it that way with a diamond rod. Surface rust develops pretty quickly, being carbon steel. I clean and oil it after every use, but that takes less than five minutes. I stretched some bicycle inner tube over the handle to improve the grip. I'm working on some Micarta scales and I always use it with a lanyard. This thing is a BEAST!

Very good knife, resembling a curved meat cleaver. Short story: Working in construction, having the money, over the years I collected what was literally a five gallon bucket full of "survival" knives. Events in later years caused me to have to sell ninety percent of them off. When I came back into a "little money" recently, I began looking for a knife or two that I might use. Now, after buying the Johnson Adventure Potbelly, it seems the best thing I could have done was to sell off the old ones and buy your knife. Best recommendation I can give it.

I ordered this knife yesterday afternoon and it arrived today before 11 a.m.---very impressive service. Last year I ordered several Ka-Bar fixed blade knives (DBA-800) from CTD and found them to be excellent blades. When considering the Ka-Bar Potbelly, I got online and read some field reviews, which were all very positive. Now that I have taken delivery of this blade I must say that I could not be more pleased with this purchase and I know this knife will still be around long after I am gone. CTD & Ka-Bar...an unbeatible combination.
