I got my ka-bar for Christmas 2010. I took it out of the box and shaved a spot on my arm with it. It is the sharpest knife I have ever taken out of the package before. Excellent quality, very tough. I took it out and cut some small branches off of trees in the back yard. Thr knife has enough weight to it to not be too heavy, but also to not have to wack all day at a branch. Very good for hunting and camping. I am very happy with the gift and will get some great use out of it. Thanks to my wife and CTD.

Trust me this is sharp. This knife holds its edge very well and cuts like the proverbial hot knife through butter.

I was impressed with the size and heft of the blade. It was fairly sharp when I first got it, and I used it to get rid of some of the saplings growing in my garden. I nicked the blade on a rock, so after I was finished I resharpened it. The next time I used it was a little scary. I mowing my yard and wanted to trim a couple of lower limbs on some trees in my yard. Well removing them did not take much effort. I have had a harder time spreading butter on my hot toast than what it took to trim the limbs. It would not surprise me if you could quarter any game you took out in the field in about 5 min. After I was finished it was still razor sharp. I don't know what a real Kukri is like, but you can't beat it for the price!!!!
