Known for their true craftsmanship, KA-BAR has designed a knife for law enforcement personnel. Worn on the belt for quick deployment, this knife allows the officer to protect themselves from the perpetrator. In extreme close quarters encounters the TDI knife is available as a last option. When worn on the pant belt the entire knife and sheath is well concealed. Friction sheath so the knife draws like a pistol from a holster.

KA-BAR Large TDI Law Enforcement Knife -
A larger version of our very popular TDI Law Enforcement Knife. This knife is sold with hard plastic sheath that is fitted with flexible Cordura straps to mount to pant and duty belts, tactical vests, and more.

Drop Point Blade -
This blade has a gentle, sloping convex curve to the point versus the concave curve of the clip blade. Being thicker, this blade point is stronger for heavier tasks. It stands up to abuse well, but isn't as effective for easy penetration.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

AUS 8 -
A Japanese made medium carbon, high chromium stainless steel, which offers a good balance of toughness, edge sharpness and corrosion resistance.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

I wear this knife on my weak side attached to my pants belt under my duty gun belt. It is a great knife very sharp and holster is very adaptable. I also have monted it on my tactical vest. Since I bought the large version it wears better on the vest than on my pants. I am a big guy (6'2" 255lbs)and can hide/carry it OK on my hip but if I had to do it again for hip wear under the duty belt I would buy the smaller version. I may buy a smaller one just for that and just leave the big one on my vest.

I had previously bought the K-Bar Original TDI Knife and was very pleased with its size, durability, and the sheath. The ofset handle makes it easy to discreetly draw it from the holster and hold it in your hand ready to use if neccessary. You can punch and slash with it very quickly and effectively if you are left with no other recourse. I have to agree with the other review though, if you are like me and had a few to many fried foods watch when putting the knife back in the holster as you may cut your flab the knife being as sharp as it is. The belt clip is a good idea if you have this problem. I bought the TDI Large recently as an "upgrade" and I find it has the same quality as the other one I bought. I looked around at other sites and found CTD is the best priced for this knife. Definitely a good buy!

This piece has a solid and confident feel, texture, and weight. I expected it to be thinner and lighter but was very pleased by its rugged heavy duty feel. It doesnt feel like just any metal it feels like steel! The angle of the knife allows you to punch/stab & block/slash very naturally. Watch out for those love handles when reholstering into the sheath...the blade arrives razor..almost surgically sharp! I highly recommend the clip attachment for general civilian clothes carry..I have been wearing this 24/7 and it is the MOST comfortable fixed blade I've ever carried. I regret not buying one years ago. In case youre wondering the handle is very adequate and has girth to it and the sheath holds it very securely.
