| I got this thing the other day, and I gota say this knife feels like a tank. Much stronger than my higher end more expensive knives. That being said, I do have a few minor issues. For one, the finish or texture on the blade is kind of a nuisance, EVERYTHING sticks to it, dirt, mud, dust, super fine saw dust, etc. I think if it gets too obnoxious, I could buff it out with sandpaper or something. Another thing is the grip, it's kind of slick, no grip like Cold Steels knives, not huge, but annoying again. I might be able to modify it, and melt checkering in it or sawing it out. The sheath is super cheap, kinda flimsy, and falls apart. I'm making an ambidextrous kydex retention sheath for it, and run paracord through it so I can mount it on my backpack, LBE, vest, belt or even thigh. Last thing is the hilt or hand guard, it gets in the way if you want to choke up on the blade, and lay your thumb along the spine of the blade. For example, like when you are whittling, or shaving sticks, or bone to make arrow heads. Or more precise cutting like knocks of an arrow or slicing leather, but I can grind it down after I finish the sheath. Overall, I give it 5 out of 5 bullets, great for a beginner, a first knife, or even a good workhorse for more experienced outdoorsmen. Buy this knife and you wont be sorry! |
