This M48 Hawk is the ultimate tactical weapon. It is lightweight to be carried all day without added muscle fatigue and the blade of the M48 Hawk offers a wide, upswept axe blade for mammoth chopping, slashing and cutting potential. The secondary edge on the back side of the head is specially sharpened on both edges for a cutting and hooking attack. When combined, the spike and axe head make for an efficient personal defense and breaching tool. The blade is securely attached to the indestructible 30% nylon reinforced handle with three separate bolts. It comes complete with a nylon snapbutton sheath.

Great Tommie! Used it to cut my steak before heading outside. I threw it at a tree and stuck it all four tries from about 25 yards (with witnesses. woo-hoo) and didn't have any handle loosening problems, although the steel showed some wear and tear. Didn't get it for heavy work - I have my Gerber set for that. The sheath IS useless. Doesn't matter, though, as this axe would lay some smack down if needed. Enjoy!

This axe is great. I love the way it looks. 4 bullets because it came duller than a butter knife. Took it to my knife man; he put a good edge on the head and a WICKED point to the spike. It's now devastatingly lethal. I recommend this for soft targets only. Don't go chopping wood with this axe - that's what a hatchet is for. CTD is awesome! Fast shipping, never had any problems with them. If you buy this axe, get it sharpened by a professional!

I opened the box and was immediatly impresses, I then walked outside and tried chopping a limb, the metal insert that is in the top of handle snapped of clean within 10 swings. It appears to be a fault in the metal. Absoloute disappointment. ctd was great my order was delivered not on time but early, but I will be returning to see if it was a bad lemon.

Just got this in today. Man, this thing is awesome! Fast delivery, as always, with CTD. The only thing I don't like about this axe is the belt loop, but that's it. I was worried I was not going like the fiberglass handle, but it's perfect. Built really well. Going to sharpen the point on the back and put a better edge on the blade.

The tomahawk itself is flat out awesome, but there are enough reviews of that. A lot of people say the sheathe is worthless, but I kinda like it. The "beltloop" on it is garbage; you can't fit even a thin belt through it, and if you try to stretch it or force it, it tears. However, the sheathe itself is pretty good. The material is fairly thin, but the button closures on it are designed so that you can grab the sheathe and rip it off very quickly and with one hand. I keep the tomahawk tucked in my tac belt with my b.o.b., and it's really easy to grab it with one hand and unsheathe it with the other. Takes maybe 3 seconds. Sheathe would get 2 bullets, hawk should get 10. 5 bullets overall sounds about right.

I have abused the heck out of this tomahawk and it keeps coming back for more. I have thrown it at stuff and missed, landed on rocks, and it is fine. I have chopped all kinds of wood and zombie limbs and it is still sharp. It is much tougher than I expected when I first got it. For the money, I don't think you can find a cooler-looking 'hawk that is as tough and well-built as this one. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best purchases I have made. I love that it is light, easy to carry, and its protective sheath. I carry it with me while backpacking and love it. The handle has a great grip to it; the feel of the handle makes it easy to hold and swing.

The nylon sheath is worthless. But the Hawk itself is awesome. The day it arrived, I put it to the test. It chops, cuts, whittles, and throws without a problem. I am considering buying one or two more to have on hand.

This is definitely a great pick up .... its not meant for yard work, its meant for training and survival, I will say this would be good for camping and fishing.... but its a combat buddy great for special ops, rangers and the rest of the best!!!!!!!

Great little axe. Sheath is a pain but, it's an axe so of course it is not going to go in like a knife. I took mine camping and it went through wood like a hot knife through butter. Handle is great and all around happy with it

I love my Axe.....I am not sure what GSN was talking about (as far as the pointy part of the axe sticking out of the sheath) mine is completely enclosed in the sheath. Great, Great axe, but it wasn't too sharp (edge-wise) when I received it......I will remedy that......Nice weight to it and the belt loop on the back is perfect....I am happy with my purchase......Especially since the raised the price by about 4-5 dollars, after I bought mine.....LOL! Great stuff, CTD. I will buy more from you as money allows.....And as my wife allows!!

This thing is Evil looking!! Real sturdy and something you would not want being waved at you. I didn't like the snapbutton sheath, so I will be removing the snapbuttons and putting in velcro. You can't get to it quickly if you need to because these buttons are huge. I have mine attached to the back of my tac vest so I can get to it quick. If you want it for quick use I suggest removing the buttons and getting velcro. Not for use with wood cutting or other hatchet stuff-I would think that is common sense, but not for some it seems. This is a tactical axe used for killing not cutting wood-for those that dont get it. Wish it was a little bigger...

This is a seriously nice piece of work. Real sturdy and the handle has a solid feel to it, so you don’t feel like the inside of the handle is hollow, extreme light weight which is great for carrying it and you really can throw it, this is the real deal and tactical for sure!

If you are looking for a weapon other than a machete or knife, this will get the job done. If you want a cool looking hatchet to chop wood/small branches, it isn't so good. The handle is too small in diameter and produces too much vibration for extended chopping. The sheath is poorly designed as well. You have to slide the ax into the sheath from the bottom upwards, then snap the snaps along the bottom of the sheath. The pointy part on the bottom of the ax blade still pokes thru the open part of the sheath, so you must be careful. It would have been MUCH better if they had designed the sheath so you can slide it into the sheath from the top and then snap the top closed. That being said, it is really cool looking and not expensive.

I'm not going to post some BS like I see on reviews for guns that say "I got this for target practice," or "plinking" or whatever. I got this to do some serious damage in the awful and unlikely event I'm ever faced with H2H combat. It's light, sturdy, and well balanced. Only the axe blade is sharpened, but an hour with a grinder and whet stone fixed that. Back of the axe and top and bottom of the pike are now slicing paper, which took it from mean to just plain nasty. Metal seems good quality. Probably need to add a wrist strap, for which there is a hole. Like any good weapon, this also makes a good tool. Shouldn't replace a knife, and it isn't meant to, but I wouldn't bring a knife to a tomahawk fight. In summary, good all-around utility tool and great dual weild weapon with a fixed blade knife.
