Item: CAMP-352

Just Water, monolithic ceramic drip filter works as well as the high end British ones only at a fraction of the cost!

This half-micron filter removes water-borne bacterium with a 0.5 micron efficiency which exceeds NSF standards. The ceramic filter can be cleaned with a soft brush at least 100 times, and it produces 14 gallons of drinking water per day. This system includes a ceramic filter, filter sock, and spigot.

Simply double stack two clean five gallon buckets with lids, drill a 1/2" hole in the bottom of the top bucket and through the top of the bottom buckets lid, place sock over filter and install it in the bottom of the top bucket. Drill a 3/4" hole on the side and near the bottom of the bottom bucket and install the spigot. Fill the top bucket with water from a lake, rain, tap, river or stream and in an hour you will have bacteria free water to drink in the bottom bucket.

Non-returnable, buckets not included. See our item # CAMP-309 for a food grade, standard 5 gallon bucket. Need just a filter? See our item # CAMP-354. Same ceramic filter material and made by the same company, but in common "candle" shape and without the sock or spigot.

I got one of these originally for our disatster kit. We tried it out and it works wonderfully. Then we found reasons to keep a system on the kitchen counter. We have well water - lots of minerals and a little 'earthy" smell and taste. The water out of this system is clear, no smell no taste (that's WITH a filter and softener already). BUT we found that it removed the high amount of calcium we have, along with some iron oxide. We put the water in a decorative fountain - and no "white" residue!, it's in the coffee maker - no more cleaning the lines and valves!, we put in in the cats fountains and reduced thier chances of getting FUS by a huge margin (vet's opinion). HINTS: put a vent (paint spray nozzel with white part pulled out)in the lower bucket. Cut a hole in the top bucket and cover with a lid for easy filling (I used a plastic cup with a lid, cut off). Use a flashlight to check levels. Use a "scale" on the buckets to prevent overfilling (bottom one going down, top one going up). Remove the handle from the upper bucket so that it's picked up by the lower bucket only. BUY MORE - when things go south - these are a gold mine.

Works as described. Good price. Be prepared to use something to make the water taste better, depending on what you put in it.

Very nice filter. Great value for a ceramic filter that is washable/reusable. Easy to assemble. Excellent for an emergency or a prepper setup.

I ordered on a Tuesday and received the items on a Thursday with standard ground shipping. Assembly was so simple a child could do it. It takes very little time to actually filter five gallons of water. I generally fill it at night before bed and have five gallons of filtered water by morning. The filtered water tastes better than bottled water and far better than tap water. The system is completely portable and I would feel safe using these in an emergency or survival situation.

Put together a double bucket system. Filled top with untested backyard shallow well water that was cloudy with suspended particles. Added 1T bleach to top bucket, although I should have used 1/2t in the filtered bottom (5 gallons filtered). This is S L O W ! Slow! I had to wait 24 hours before I had 5 gallons. This would be considered slow, right? Certainly not enough to drink or cook with after 8 hours that's for sure. Could there be something wrong? The white "filter sock" doesn't stays on, will float off under water, so, that was useless. Water was clear as day, no smell, nothing. Tasted BETTER than bottled water, I'm serious. Drank it ice cold, and it had no flat taste, no odd anything. It's just SLOW. I may add 4 to the bottom to speed things up.
