Designed for use by the Swiss Military for portability and operational security, it is perfect for heating food and water when a campfire is not an option.

Lightweight, 6.6 ounces, compact, closed measurements of 2.75" tall and 3" in diameter this stove kit is perfect for bug out bags, emergency kits, survival kits, backpacking, and all types of outdoor activities.

To use, simply remove steel burner from around can.
Remove green cap from top of can and rest can on cap or other heat resistant surface.
Puncture top metal membrane of can to expose gelled fuel.
Rest steel burner into rim on top of can.
Light gelled fuel using matches, lighter, fire steel or other striker.
To end use:
simply knock burner from top of can
rest green cap on can to extinguish flame
retighten cap and nest can inside burner.

Rubber seal inside lid keeps the gelled fuel from leaking or evaporating between uses.

Enough gelled fuel for approximately 2 hours burn time, and stove can hold up to 25 lbs of weight during use. Stove can be reused over and over until all fuel has been consumed. Does Not Include Matches

The stove is about the same size as a can of tuna, and will fit into any bug out bag or backpack. I ordered 5, and all came wrapped in plastic, looking brand new. Pretty much what other people have said, they work, and are cheap, needed accessories for emergencies/camping/etc. Well worth the $$$.

Got 20 of these stoves and will get more. Power or Gas goes out can still cook or heat water. Last at least 2 hours. Can use the reusable burner for the trioxane ration heating tabs I also got.

It's disposable, yeah, after heating an entire case worth of MRE entree's. Same size as a can of sterno, but with the built-in flip-up stove, and a pack of Euro-matches, all sealed in factory shrink-wrap. Ordering 2 dozen more now..

Great little set; stove appears compatible with other can fuels. The price went up $1 since I ordered one last year but still cheaper than other name brand canned fuel/stove set and fit better in a backpack. Great size for camping, blackouts, etc.

Well even when ordering I thought that this may be no good (because the amazing price). but it turns out that this is too good and also true! I got the shipment within 3 days and once I opened the box that had this bad boy in it, I had to try one out. It was very nicely packed with air tight plastic, the can itself was in great shape with no dents or dings, the burn time was about an hour or more, and the lid to make the can reusable was awesome. After first light I put out the fire and put the whole can underwater for about a minute, once I took it out it once again lit right up. The point is if you are thinking about getting it, stop thinking and get it!

Got four of these in, they are Mil Surplus, but are first quality. These are slightly larger than a sterno can, are sealed tight and ready get it done for you in when needed. These also slide in a easy fit into the Surplus Swiss Volcano Cooker sold here as well. In combination these make a slick set up. I'm buying some more now. I think I'll cook my dinner on one tonight! :-) Buy this surplus item with confidence.

If you are looking for a compact, military style stove...you found it. This is better than the "buffet style" gel cans. The two I bought were individually sealed, with working matches. They are sealed with a metal lid under the one you can see in the pic. A little smaller than I thought they would be, but thats a good thing. Stay away from these I want them all!!!!

Great little stove for the price, I ordered 10 of these and all came in excellent condition. The matches that come with it are a little flimsy and probably pretty old, but they still managed to light without too much of a struggle. The fuel itself seems to burn hotter than sterno and the burner makes cooking easy. Shipped fast as always, thanks again ctd.

Though I would try this, Had good reviews. However, it was all rusty. Empty (no fuel), not worth returning it for money. DON'T BUY THIS, JUNK.

Good condition, solid stove, burns for very long time, 6-8 hours and they mean it. Comes with a very cool match book with interesting logos and pictures on them. Lightweight and about the same price of Sterno but it comes with a stove. Not aluminum but some kind of steel. A great buy. Buy more than one because you'll just want to light one for fun. About 3-5 will keep you happy.

This is a quality product. It boiled a two-cup (16oz) pot for a two-serving freeze dried camping meal, and heated (too hot to drink) two 16oz cups of coffee. Enough left over to warm a 16oz cup of hot chocolate before hitting the sack. I used both a 1.5qt-sized aluminum camp pot and a 16oz steel cup to heat the water, and this was faster and easier then using coals from the camp fire. A complete day's worth of cooking for four dollars, including the cost of the stove is hard to beat. It is very hard to see the flame and in bright light you can't tell it's lit. Look for the quick flash and listen for the "pop" to tell it's burning. Be very careful because both the can and pot support get hot.

I bought these to use as a backup food heating source for a hiking trip. The unit I tried out lit immediately, and kept burning even in the strong wind. I filled a metal canteen base with water and set it on the burner. It was at a slow boilng within 15 minutes. Again, this was in strong winds without a wind barrier for most of the trial. The only part that is slightly disappointing is that heating this one container of water (enough for a package of Ramen noodles), took close to a half of the fuel. For the price, you can afford to buy a couple extra. Then, you're good to go. I'm going to pick up a few more!

I set it up with a 1qt pot on top, outdoors. It burned for just under an hour before going dead. The water steamed, but never boiled. Totally dissatisfied with it....

Guys and gals, I've been working on a stove for outdoor all weather use and was immediately sold on the idea of the Swiss Ranger Volcano Stove (also sold here at CTD) however when researching how to use the stove effectively I found people using wetfire, sticks, charcoal, and homemade alcohol drip systems with it. Then I came across this. Although CTD doesn't provide measurement specs on their site I watched Hirams youtube video on testing it and it sure looked like the right size for my Volcano stove. I received a M71 NOTKOCHER which is the same thing just a LOT older but it fit perfectly in the volcano stove and I'm betting I boiled water with it in about 3:30 minutes.

This is a pretty nice, compact little stove. If it weren't for the soot it gives off I would have rated it 5 bullets. But that can be taken care of by refilling it with something that doesn't soot up. I did a little review on YouTube if anyone wants to see it. By the way, the instructions on the fuel can translate out as: Operating Instructions: 1. Unscrew the swivel lid 2. Aluminum pierce membrane and remove Can not put on combustible surface 3. Put ring cooker, cookware set up and light it solidified alcohol Make use 1. Tilting hot cooker ring 2. Defer lid from the side, flame goes out Never blow out 3. after cooling lid tightening

Received mine like new, sealed in plastic. An additional aluminium seal under the lid needs to be removed before first use - that's the most difficult part. No smell while still sealed! Diameter of the stove is 3 inches. Great bargain.

A very good item, one can is enough to "roll boil" a quart of water for 5 minutes 5 times (starting with cold water, of cause, and it is in a pretty cold and wet weather, close to freezing). Can is very light. The item would get 5 stars, it it did not SMELL :-) I do not read Swedish, but may guess that the fumes are "slightly toxic". Will work fine as an emergency fuel.

If you are setting up a bug out pack this is what you want. It burns hotter than sterno. It comes with its own burner attachment that can be used over and over. It seals up well after the first use.On first use remember to cut out all the foil seal. Its light weight, and takes up very little room in the pack. If push came to shove, you could refill the can with sterno for extended use............................ A Great item at a cheap price
