Compact, light weight and it will filter 500 gallons of water. It is hard to beat. I ordered a second filter kit for mine. I gave it 4 stars because I think the pump handle could have been a bit more rugged -all in all great quality, just take care of it like you do that anything your life depends on and I don't see any problems.

I have had this purifier for 2 yrs and have taken it backpacking a few times. The first time I used it we were in the middle of no-where and other than the small reserve of water we started with this was our only source of water. I do not regret relying on it so heavily. It was a very dry summer and the only water source was a very low very muddy stream. The filter preformed great the entire time. Although the system did not take all of the taste out it took enough to make it tolerable. (slight pond/muddy taste to it, but if you had seen the water you would be amazed people could even drink it after being filtered.) I did not expieriance any illness what so ever. The only reson I gave this 4 instead of 5 bullets is, it could be built a little more solid. It is the only piece of gear I have to take an exceptional level of caution with when packing and using.
