The Diamond forearm bridges the gap between the upper receiver and handguard and is “T” marked on all 4 rails. YHM's diamond pattern in the handguard reduces weight and blends perfectly with the diamond fluted barrel. Total Weight: 4.8 lbs.

Features Include:
- Mil-spec forged 7075-T6 aluminum YHM flat top upper receiver (ARR-179)
- "T" Marked upper receiver with forward assist
- Mil-spec bolt carrier assembly
- 16" chrome-moly vanadium steel barrel, heat treated to RC 25-32

I was very pleased to be able to purchase a higher end upper (availability is tough now). Great quality and nice machining work. I just hope I get a chance to shoot it before... I believe in the 2nd Amendment.

Okay, first the positive then the Negative. This is an excellent upper. Smooth action and very accurate for a chrome lined barrel. 1" groups @ 100yrds using an NcStar 7X zoom tactical scope from CTD Item #80721. The ammo I used was PMC Bronze 55 grain FMJBT. I held the same accuracy with 60 grain Winchester PDX1 Defenders and 62 grain 5.56 NATO steel core Royal Ordnance Factory Radway Green (RORG for short). Okay, now the bad news. When it arrived, it was dirty and the left side front Picatiny rail was damaged. Heavy gouge. I was very angry about that. Then, I cleaned the barrel. To my dismay, it took me an hour. It was FILTHY! I mean, the damage to the barrel and the filthiness...was I sold a used Upper?!?! WTF!!!

I went from a Bushmaster M4A2 to the Yankee Hill Machine upper. Very balanced and extremely light weight. I think my complete AR weighs less than just the Bushmaster M4A2 upper. The flip up iron sights are very well built and easy to aquire. I can't believe how fast Cheaper Than Dirt got it to my door. I was going to order this upper direct from YHM, but they were out of stock. I would not hesitate to by YHM brand products or anything else from CTD.

Being used to match grade rifles, I have a high standard. That being said, this one is more than adequate for all but the most precise shooting, which usually isn't done with a .223 anyways. I use a US Optics SN-4S (1-4x) and was shooting about 4 MOA with military surplus rounds. Not the best, but considering the max zoom is 4x and the reticle width covers about 3 inches @ 100 yards, this is acceptable to me. With a quality scope that has a higher magnification, I would likely be able to shoot a tighter group. The match grade .223 rounds I bought to shoot through this were substandard; the rounds weren't seated straight in the shell so I can't tell you how it shoots with those. If I had to do this over again, I'm not sure I'd pay the amount again. Knock it down about $100 and then I'd buy it again.
