Made popular on the 5.55/.223 caliber AR and M4 platform, Troy's TRX-308 Battle Rail takes this revolutionary platform and makes it compatible with the AR's larger and more powerful .308 brethren. Sleek, lightweight, and low profile, it provides a stable foundation for mounting optics, bipods, or other accessories to your low profile DPMS LR-308 rifle. Included with the package is the handguard, high strength barrel nut, and three quick detach rails. Machined from 6061-T6 hardened aircraft aluminum and finished in Mil-Spec Type III hard coat with Teflon. Length 12.6". Rail and Barrel Nut, Weight 11.9 Ounces.

DPMS, Bushmaster and Remington may have two different height upper receivers. This rail fits the Low Profile DPMS type receiver.

How to tell what type of DPMS LR-308 receiver you have:
The new “Low Profile” upper receiver has a 1/8" wide top portion where the charging handle is installed.
The older “High Profile” upper receiver has a 3/16" wide top portion where the charging handle is installed.

The 12.6" TRX-308 Troy Battle Rail is a smoking deal! These Troy handguards are very well made and this price is cheaper than any other online source I could find. The 12.6" length is perfect for a 16" or 18" barrel with mid-length gas system, as it protects the gas block, provides a longer grip length for the weak hand, and still looks well proportioned. I liked these so well, I placed a second order for five more. Just be sure your DPMS style receiver is the low profile configuration, not the earlier high profile. Although I am a big fan of the Midwest Industries 2nd Gen SS handguard for an AR-15, this Troy TRX-308 handguard is the quality, cost effective handguard to buy for a DPMS .308.

This is the second Troy TRX 308 rail I've used on my DPMS low profile upper receivers. It is outstanding in fit and finish. I'm a big Troy fan as all their products are top notch. It aligns perfectly with the receiver top rail and makes it look like a monolithic receiver/rail. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.
