I needed a riser that would help me co-witness my TRS-1 red dot and my MBUS on my S&W M&P15T. This worked out perfectly. After I properly zeroed the MBUS, I simply aligned the red dot through the MBUS. Fired about 10 rounds MBUS only, then 10 co-witnessed, then 10 red dot only. All three groupings were pinpoint accurate and consistent. So, if you use the same equipment as I do, this riser works perfectly.

Curiosity got the better of me and I took this mount off my carbine to test on my A2. The A2 has a KAC M5 RAS. Mounted directly in front of carry handle and allowed for proper use of the Bushnell TRS-25 or original sights. An added bonus was that the red dot did not need adjustment going from one rifle to the other. However I use the "improved battle sight zero" on my irons so the red dot shot about an inch high at 100 meters until I flipped to the 300 range (original battle sight range) on my irons then the red dot and irons shot one group. Time to order another mount and red dot.

Ordered this to raise my Bushnell trs-25 up to a useable level. This thing is light and well made. I don't believe it would hold up to combat conditions but I think it will be fine on my patrol rifle. Puts the center of my red dot exactly in the middle of fixed carry handle and detachable carry handle height (2.8 and 2.6 inch, mounted red dot is 2.7) so military zero is acceptable for either the 200 or 300 yard "battle zero". I like the nut over a standard round style, I can get enough on it so that it will stay in place but still removable by hand if needed. Also the holes in the nut allow for tons of improvised tightening/ loosening devices including a bullet tip. Clamp is spring loaded and another thing I like about the mount. I would have preferred .840" so that it was the same height as a fixed carry handle. Great for putting the Bushnell TRS-25 on a flat top not to mention that it provided a great place for then odd lens caps to be stored by rotating them 90 deg and letting them drop down.

I bought both this .83" and the 1" to see which lines up to allow me to use my backup flip up/down iron sights with my Burris Fastfire holo sight and this .83" is exactly the one to get. I've been super happy with all the UTG stuff I've bought, this unit is lightweight aluminum and the turnscrew is easy on/off. this 3slot fits my Burris Fastfire perfect and if the Burris battery died I can flip up my buis and see through the Burris window - this unit is the correct height. My AR is a flattop (not handle).

Using the mini red dot sights now on the market poses a problem: if one uses a regular 1/2" riser the mini dot is too low. Stacking two of them is ok, but a little too high. This riser puts the dot right on line with the iron sights, and, if one is using a flip down front sight there is no occlusion of the view at all. Plus if using the irons they are more easily seen through the center of the lens.
