This .250" diameter take down pin has a spring loaded push button. When pushed, the stainless steel keeper pins retract for easy pin removal. The pin is designed to eliminate wear in and around the hole caused by pins with spring loaded balls. The steel has a black oxide finish. The button also has a drilled cross hole which allows for the installation of a seal wire to prevent tampering with the guns internals.

The small locking pin that held my old take down pin fell out. It takes an additional hand and a second or two to change my upper with this take down pin, but piece of mind of not losing take down pin is worth it. Now I have a spare and no more Jerry-rigging with tape.

Excellent product! Ordered the Pivot pin as well. Both are a must-have if you tend to break-down your upper and lower frequently. What they don't show you in the picture here is that there is also a hole through each push pin so that you can install a cotter pin or a lock ring to secure the pins against accidental detent.

Man these things work great. I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews saying they were hard to take out. Mine came out with no problem. I lost my detent spring when I took my stock off and these were a good solution. I put a little oil on it before I put it in the first time and it is easy to put in and take out and it holds the gun together nicely.

this works very well. much easier using this then the original pin and detent. also you can get rid of the spring that you always either lose or bend/break when swapping stocks. you cant use an accu-wedge buffer with this, but who knows if they actually work anyway. you can remove this without a bullet or tool. it just takes practice and pushing on one side with a fingernail, while keeping the pin depressed on the other side.

I oiled the pin and inserted it and removed it about 25 times and it goes in and out very smoothly now. This is a good product. Still, do not use this with an acuwedge as it will prevent the pin from exiting easily/smoothly.

Yes, as the other reviewer says, these pins are difficult to remove. You must push the button while pushing on the other side with a bullet tip or screwdriver. Love/hate relationship with these things. They do eliminate 4 parts on the gun, the pin springs and little tabs that hold the stock pins in place, which is great, But they are neither fast or easy. But maybe with practice :) . I had to remove my accuwedge device from the gun as these pins were almost impossible to remove with them installed. If easier to remove I would give them an extra bullet.

Units solved a big problem for me on a new build as I did not have to install any detent springs! Units go in easy, but are hard to remove as once you push the button, nothing to hang on to pull them out... I end up pushing from the backside, but you can only push on the edge to avoid pushing on the inside pin. Nice product, just need a ring to grab to pull the pins out (they are drilled)
