Velocity Firearms complete dedicated .22 Long Rifle carbine upper receiver assembly for AR-15 and M4. Features a flat top A3 polymer upper receiver with built in Mil-Spec M1913 Picatinny accessory rail with a sling attachment point in the forward assist, A2 flash hider with the correct crush washer, A2 front sight base with bayonet lug, and M4 contour and length handguards with full heat shields. The upper does not include the dust cover. The 16" barrels are machined from chrome-moly, high vanadium steel for long life and are threaded in the standard ½ X 28 TPI. The barrels are of Mil-Spec M4 contour with right hand, 1/16" twist. The 1/16" twist is best for .22 Long Rifle to handle the widest variety of ammo and bullet weights. The barrel, and all external steel parts, are manganese phosphate finished IAW 5.3.1.2 of Mil-STD-171, the U. S. government's recommended protective finish for steel. This finish not only looks great, it affords complete corrosion protection. The bolt is made from high quality 4140 steel and is heat treated to RC46-48 for long life. It also has an electro-less nickel finish that is harder and smoother than other finishes. The electro-less nickel finish helps with function and reliability and makes it very easy to clean.

Includes a ten round magazine ((MAG-087)). Designed to fit all mil-spec lower receivers. Will not work on some Rock River Arms rifles.

I received the unit today and have not shot it as of yet... Upon opening the unit the bolt carrier group flew out and fell into 4 pieces (bolt, spring, shaft and base)... I freaked out, called Velocity and asked if this was normal and how to fix it... I was told, yup, thats normal ... Basically, the whole BCG is not clipped together in any way and just held together by the receiver. Not a big deal once installed, but keeping it together while not installed (or installing it) is a challenge. I put it on my Colt AR and it fit very well. Action cycles no problem (very short stroke). When I went to remove it, it was hung on the hammer... I lifted it up a little in the back and the BCG shot out in 4 pieces... I am putting it on a dedicated lower, so shouldn't be a big deal if it shoots well. Unit was packed in the Deluth, MN newspaper and was covered in some nasty cosmoline type stuff. Cleaned up nice. I am replacing a Ciener kit with this and the BCG is no where near as nice as the Ciener kit, but having the right twist should greatly improve accuracy. If it shoots decent, I will keep it.

This assembly is just plain awesome. Ready to drop onto your AR lower. Mine runs on everything I put in it from standard velocity target ammo to hyper velocity hunting ammo. Take it out with a brick of your favorite ammo and have a day of great fun. The Black Dog mag it comes with works flawlessly also.
