Great item. Yes, the screws are too short if you attempt to install over the heat shield, which you shouldn't do. Took me 5 minutes to install in 6 easy steps. 1. Make sure weapon is unloaded. 2. Remove hand guards (best with tool, delta ring can be snug). 3. Remove heat shield (carefully with flat head screw driver. 4. Attach rail and screw in. 5. Reattach heat shield. 6. Reattach hand guards. All done!

The rail system seems to be good except the screws they send in the set are to short for the hand guards, so I'm off to find longer ones

I put one of these on my RRA LAR-15. They're high quality and I don't expect any issues with them. BUT, as others have said, the screws are too short. Even without the lock-rings, it wouldn't fit. I fixed it by removing the thin metal heat shield inside the handguard. That removed the extra gap that was keeping the screws from reaching the threads. Longer screws would, of course, be an easy fix too. All in all, for the price, I was really happy.

Put one on my DPMS LR-308 for a Grip-Pod and will put the other on my S&W M&P15. Holes line up great, but on the inside of the grip, I had to cut a little of the plastic ridge material away on the narrow end, so the flange nut would fit inside nice and flat. Works perfect! Great price, solid construction (aluminum).

I bought these for my DPMS Oracle. I fit them on to my original forend. Each piece (top and bottom) comes with two screws, obviously (it would seem) to securely attach these pieces to your fore-end. Sadly, only one hole and screw line up with my forend. This does, however, feel very secure, and my bipod attachment seems to feel secure to this piece. I'm not sure if it's intended for one screw or not, but it does seem to hold. Would have given it a five bullet rating, if it were not for this uncertain feeling.
