Your Military rifle is worthless when a shell case gets stuck in the chamber. A round can separate from the rim and leave the shoulder in the chamber. With the shoulder stuck in the chamber, your long-range rifle becomes an expensive club. The only way to remove the broken shell is to slip this tool inside the case and use the extractor on your rifle. Broken shells are not common, but since there is no other way to remove the case, we highly recommend this tool for all .223 shooters. New, current production. For use with AR-15, or any rifle that shoots the .223 cal.

Instructions for use:
When the case head is torn from the case leaving the majority of the shell casing inside the chamber of your weapon you will need a Broken Shell Extractor to safely remove it from the chamber.

Insert the narrow end of BSE into the chamber with the casing stuck inside. Make sure that the inner pin is unscrewed so the end is not flared.

Once the BSE is proplerly installed into the chamber you can release the bolt. Then you can pull the bolt back, by doing so it will pull the BSE back and and the end will flare and grab the case opening where the bullet was and pull it out like a regular loaded round.

Keep one with your shooting gear, in your gunsmithing kit, or gun case. A handy, must have item for shooters and hunters.

I bought one of these on a whim a couple years ago thinking, "...maybe someday I might need one...". Wednesday last I was shooting my Saiga .223, which has been utterly reliable through thousands of rounds, when the bolt failed to go into battery. I performed a normal failure drill only to again have the bolt "hang up" partially in battery, but the bolt not fully forward. I figured out something was in the chamber. A quick check with a flashlight and there was a broken shell half way up the chamber, solidly wedged in. The rear of the casing had torn off (the torn section looked very much like a normal spent 9mm case). I was shooting Federal quality ammo...go figure. I pulled out my shell extractor from my range tool bag and was back shooting in 5 minutes (that is after a quick swab and safety check of the inner workings of the rifle appeared "OK"). Anyway, for the price buy one or two and always have one with you whe employing a long gun. There is NO WAY I could have solved this failure without this tool. Cheers! easy610
