5.0 Rating Great Cheap Ammo - 11/20/2006

I shoot this ammo in my sporterized Yugo M48 Mauser. Shoots great I can sometime get 1.5" groups if I try hard enough. For 12 cents a round you can't get cheaper 8mm Mauser ammo.

1.0 Rating Duds - 6/22/2010

My son and I went out this weekend to shoot his 8mm Mauser, and only one of the 45 bullets we tried fired. Don't know if this is typical of this vintage ammo, but I won't be back.

4.0 Rating Great for Non-Steelcore Ranges - 6/28/2010
Reviewer: Mark S.
This Yugo Stuff is 2nd only to the Bulgarian in greatness as far as non-Steel Core. I still prefer the Romanian Spam Can Stuff as my "Emergency Reserve" but for it's Price and the Range Issues, the Yugo is great. The Cartridges should be rubbed with a Cloth because little bits of Junk seems to accumulate on them. People that are having Failures is 99% of the Time is due to a weak Firing Spring. The Yugo Primers are recessed further than standard 8mm and thus will require a stronger Firing Pin Spring -usually got worn out in the Arsenal due to being stored cocked/unfired) that runs about 10 Bucks... Lastly, I like that my Wooden Crate still had the Inspection Form signed back in May 1955...

4.0 Rating Good stuff for the price - 7/12/2010

This is good accurate ammo out of my M24/47 mauser. Had a couple rounds fail to fire, but they worked when I tried again.

2.0 Rating Not so much... - 8/13/2010
Reviewer: SAV-GA 8mm fan
Was very excited when my large crate arrived form Fed Ex, I opened up the crate and it was still sealed from 1956. After breaking the seal, I pulled out four cardboard boxes of ammo (60 rounds) and headed off to the rifle range. I loaded up the stripper clip and guess what? Click. Click. Click. Bang! Bang! Yep only two of the three rounds worked. I examined the rounds and yes they were all firmly struck right where they were supposed to be in the center ( I even showed them later that day to my neighbor who not only reloads and makes custom hunting rifles, and is considered by most to be a gun expert). He said that they WERE faulty duds. I have since been back one more time and fired four more boxes. Out of the 120 rounds so far I have had 65 live rounds. That is a bout a 50% rate of success.
