I have shot a few hundred rounds of this in my M1A and have had no jams or malfunctions, I shoot in some local matches and am keeping it in the black, I am very happy with this ammo and the price.

2.0 Rating As expected!! - 5/30/2007
Reviewer: Trigger Happy!
I bought a hundred rounds of this stuff and a quarter of it would not shoot, when I shot, the case whould expand and jam up my bolt, taking a lot more force to open and load a nother round. Too many missfires and the red lining arround the top and primer, caused a mess, when it whould fire, I couldn't hold a 1"1/2 even 2" inch groups at 100 yards, this from my savage 12 that will shoot holes on top of each other out to 300 yards. Well thats just what you get for paying what you get for, thats my 2 cents!!

4.0 Rating Inexpensive .308 ammo - 5/31/2007
Reviewer: Plinker
Well, I have shot well over 100 rounds of this Barnaul ammo, and I must admit it certainly isn't "Match-Grade" , but its perfect for affordable plinking ammo. I have not had a single mis-fire or jam in my Saiga .308 , and so far it has had no feed problems either. I have to believe that the guy that is having all the problems may simply be more gun-related than ammo-related, or maybe he is simply exagerating the problems he has had a bit. This is very good quality ammo for the price, and so far has not given me a single feed problem or mis-fire. The Saiga being of "AK" design may be a bit more reliable and forgiving also when compared to the Savage.

3.0 Rating burns clean but dont be surprized by jams - 6/8/2007
Reviewer: brian, MO
I ran 100 rounds of this through my DPMS Panther LR-Tac 20 and the powder is superb burns much cleaner than federal brand soft point however out of the 100 rounds 2 of the boxes had 3 rounds each where the inset rim snapped preventing extraction which is a real pain in the ass for AR style rifles but by in large the majority of this ammuntion was extremely accurate and didn't result in gritty dust flying out with the ejected case

4.0 Rating Not bad for the price - 6/12/2007
Reviewer: Gene, CA
I have shot over 200 of these "bad boys" through my M1A... In my opinion, this ammo is not worse than any other "brand name" ammo, such as Winchester, Federal etc... Barnaul has a very long histroy of ammo production, and has manufactured millions of rounds for Russian military for years. I would agree with Plinker: American small arms are much more "picky" when it comes to handling and maintenance. I have served in Afghanistan in early 80ies during Russian campaign. We shot thousands of Barnaul rounds through our AK 47s during operations against mujahedins with very few mifires, or jams. I agree, it is most likely type of rifle that you shoot, and not necessarily ammo. GS.
