5.0 Rating Great Russian Ammunition for a Great Price! - 9/15/2007
Reviewer: Skokauckas
Wolf Ammunition takes it's rightful place alongside some of the world's BEST ammunition on the firearms market today. Not only do they produce rounds in some of our most favorite metric size's i.e. 7.62x54R, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, and so on...Wolf Ammunition also has a highly respected "Western" line for all of us who love our American firearms as well. This is by far the BEST 7.62x54R ammunition for the Mosin Nagant in all her variants. Feed's very well with minimal or not bolt cycling problems. NON-CORROSIVE is the name of the game these days...unless you want to spend a weekend scrubbing your rifle down. With Wolf Ammunition using modern Berdan Primer's and propellant...you don't have to worry about your bore and rifiling being eaten away like you do with corrosive surplus ammunition. Sure, it's cheaper...but what good is a rifle if you can't hit your target because your bore and rifiling is gone??? Wolf Ammunition is accurate, cost effective, and is still in-use with the Russian military along with Russia's allies. It's a current production "get the job done" ammunition that DOES get the job done every time you pull that trigger. If there are two items that Russians build very well, it's FIREARMS & AMMUNITION. Wolf has never let me down....and I'm sure that it will not let you down as well. Thank you CTD for stocking such a great ammunition!!! Skokauckas

5.0 Rating Preferred Ammo... - 3/11/2008
Reviewer: GunRangeSniper
The Wolf Gold 7.62x54R 150 Grain is specifically designed to be used in the PSL/FPK/Romak-3/SSG97 "Sniper Rifle". The standard 180 grain beats the semi-automatic to death. Several individuals approached Wolf to ask them to produce this round that is very close to the Russian 7N1 and 7N14 sniper round used in the SVD (but non-corrosive, and much cheaper). If you are firing a 7.62x54R semi-auto, you really need to feed it this ammo!

2.0 Rating wolf 150gr. fmj - 7/1/2008
Reviewer: matt from iowa
For the most part I see that the reviews for this ammo is good. But, this is a big But I received my order of Wolf gold 150gr. fmj today and headed out to the range. I was trying the Wolf for the first time and a box of the Winchester 180gr. fmj along with the 148gr. Bulgarian surplus I had been shooting. I had a pretty good baseline with the surplus stuff but ran 20 threw it to be fair. Then I went to the Wolf Gold and I don't know for sure what the problem is, but it was all over the place. I kept moving my scope around to get near the bull, but I was chasing it through the hole box. And yes I let my Mosin Nagant cool off some. I think maybe that the bullet is seated to deep, compared to the specs I see for the surplus ammo it's much deeper. When I went to the Winchester rounds next it shot great! I wasn't chasing it and it feel right in with only a few sight in shots. So try a box if you want, but be warned. on the surplus ammo it's
