Whether you want expansion or weight retention, this is the ammo that does it all. We conducted three different types of bullet recovery tests with the same end result. Massive expansion with total weight retention and knockdown stopping power. The gun was a Kimber ultra carry in 45 acp with Golden Saber +P.

I've found that ALL of the Golden Saber loads have performed well for me. I love these loads in my daily carry 4 inch Springfield. Extremely accurate, very manageable, and I KNOW they will work. Recoil is noticeable but subjective to each shooter, my .45s' just seem to "prefer" the 185 JHPs'. I would not hesitate to carry the GS in non-plusP in 185 grainers either. I like them better than Cor-Bons.(and I really like those)

Remington's 185gr +P Golden Saber is arguably the very best .45ACP self defence ammunition you can buy. The book Street Stoppers details several real world uses, and every one resulted in a successful one shot stop of the attacker. Some will argue that standard pressure 230gr is the way to go, but actual street results and my own gel testing have convinced me that this is the round we should all be using. I use nothing else, and I trust my life to this load.

I have been daily carrying Gov 45s for 28 years 24/7 and I trust my life to these 185+P Golden Sabers. Previously I used the old Remington tactical 185+P until they were superceded by the Golden Saber. Remington's philosophy is to design a bullet ogive that feeds in any stock Gov 45, for maximum reliability. Any gun must have the recoil spring and magazine matched to the round for total reliability. If I were in an condo self defense situation I might consider a fragmentary round, but on the street, REMINGTON only. Only two factors count in the real world: 1) it must go bang EVERY time you pull the trigger, 2) shot placement. Never forget: An eyeball hit with a 22 is better than a miss with a 44 Magnum. This ain't the Movies, this is real life. Get trained, stay trained.
