My earlier review gave this ammo 5 bullets. Ordered some more and was surprised to find that the ammo was totally different. First batch was Fiocchi brass and Truncated cone JHPs. Look at the current picture of the Fiocchi JHPs. That's the ammo I got in a BVAC box. 2nd batch from BVAC was "top brass" cases and a different bullet. Talked to the very nice Cust. Relations lady at BVAC and she said that they only use 2 different components. That does not make me feel better. I want consistency in the ammo I load in my concealed carry pistol. So who's ammo am I getting here? May have to go to PMC. Their .223 ammo is outstanding. PS: Had my first FTF at the range the other day. Bad primer.
2.0 Rating Good for plinking, not for SD - 7/19/20129mm BVAC JHP 124 Grain 50 Round Box 1100 fps Self Defense Ammunition BV9MM-15N2.0000

Bought these, along with 10 other boxes of different brands, to do some testing. I tested these, along with Fiocchi 115gr JHP, in a gel block. These not only went the entire way through the block, but didn't expand at all, and left the jacket in pieces throughout the block. If you are buying these as economy SELF-DEFENSE rounds (as the box states), DON'T! You'd be better off buying 147gr FMJ. The Fiocchis performed much better in the gel block. Just saying.
4.0 Rating Ammended Review - 6/28/20129mm BVAC JHP 124 Grain 50 Round Box 1100 fps Self Defense Ammunition BV9MM-15N4.0000

I wrote an earlier review. It all stands, except for one caveat. I recently had to put down a suffering goat on our farm. I carefully placed the shot starting at the top of neck, and proceeding through the brain, and it was an instantaneous, pain-free end. After, I checked the exit hole, and it was not very much bigger than the entrance. That says to me that the expansion on these is pretty minimal.
4.0 Rating Feel the Difference - 6/18/20129mm BVAC JHP 124 Grain 50 Round Box 1100 fps Self Defense Ammunition BV9MM-15N4.0000

Bought this, along with some .30-30 Winchester, to save on shipping. My 9mm is pretty forgiving, though it reliably jams on WWB FMJ ammo. I picked up a jam on the very first round of this ammo. After that, it was all smooth cycling and straight shooting. I went through most of a box, and then switched to a couple of different rounds. I felt the difference immediately, and like the BVAC much better. I loaded one mag with half of this (bottom half) ammo, and half of another JHP round. I could tell immediately when it started shooting these, and it felt much more comfortable. It was more accurate, too. Good stuff.
5.0 Rating Great AMMO - 4/7/20129mm BVAC JHP 124 Grain 50 Round Box 1100 fps Self Defense Ammunition BV9MM-15N5.0000

Nickel plated casings are great. Pretty accurate. Primers are seemingly the only thing that change box to box. Usually all boxes in the same order contain identical bullets. I've been through around 500 rounds and it's always been dependable through my Ruger SR9c. And the price isn't too bad either.
