these hydra-shox are a good round expecially in 38 special and 357 mag my dad was a cop 17 years these he trusted these bulletss with his life and i do to they have the penetration of a ka-bar through paper and the knockdown of a mack truck i would buy these bullet with no worry.

I test fired and recovered a few of these against the Sellier & Bellot FMJ that I use for practice. These Hydroshocks expanded to more than Twice the diameter of regular FMJ. There was no noticable difference in recoil, which is good for me as I prefer fast second shot accuracy as opposed to stronger punch. I can put three shots fired within two seconds into a three inch pattern at 10 yards. I will keep these loaded in my carry gun.

This is reliable, high-quality 9mm carry ammo. Sure, there's cheaper out there, but you don't need that much, and you're buying a lot of quality for your dollar. For the money, it surpasses all the necessary benchmarks and easily earns the five-bullet rating.

Most accurate commercial pistol ammo I have ever shot, both in 124 gr 9mm and 230 gr .45. I have run 500 rounds of each thru my pistols. Note: This older style of Hydra Shok hollowpoint will normally fail to expand after going thru denim or thick clothing. It will penetrate both sides of a tire at the range on a repeatable basis. Expands wonderfully on lightly clothed targets. Accuracy is this ammo's selling point. Federal has come out with a newer style of Hydrashok that expands better.

This Hydra Shok 124 grain federal ammo is possibly the most accurate for the money, although the price is increasing. What`s the price really matter when your life, or one of your loved one`s is on the line. I`ve shot it out of my Glock 27 & Kahr PM9 & at age 61, after having my arm & hand in a cast for almost 3 months I went to the range last week & shot for a couple of hours for the first time in 16 months; I had no problem controlling my shots in either gun. Very accurate & well worth the money for an expanding Hydra Shok bullet that will get the job done!

Well this is a box of 50 rounds, not 20. Thats less than 50 cents a round for premium defense ammo. Thats pretty fair if you ask me.

One of the best self defense rounds in 9mm on the market. No doubt about that. Very accurate, and hydrashock bullets are devastating. But what is going on with the prices at CTD? In the last couple of months, I have seen the prices on several of the ammunitons I buy on a regular basis increase by an alarming rate. They are not going up at Academy, where they sell the same rounds at a much cheaper price, and you dont have to pay shipping.
