I think this ammo's great. A little smoky and dirty, but so what? For the price, you can't beat it.

This stuff is so dirty I stopped firing it at the range. I bought 100 rounds each of .38, .357, .44 special, .44 mag. Several misfires each box, and the smoke draws disapproving looks from other shooting lanes - I don't blame them. It is nasty, brown smoke. Embarrassing. Nonreturnable, of course. I bought it because I use .308 from BVAC and like it. No more. I use the cheap Russian stuff, and it's much better than this. The only disappointment I've had from CTD. Too bad "no bullets" is not a choice!

I use this ammo for training my family members on a Taurus .38 Special and a .357 large frame revolver. Yes, it's smokey and very dirty and leaves a bad taste in your mouth (literally) in poor ventilation ranges.. just buy some extra mouthwash..! Also, You'll need to spend a few extra minutes in your post-range cleaning efforts. Still worth the price though!
5.0 Rating Great Value - 12/24/2011.38 Special BVAC SWC 158 Grain 50 Round Box 850 fps "Practice and Target Ammunition"5.0000

This ammo is a lot like Walmart's "Great Value" house-brand products - nothing fancy, not perfect, but yes, a Great Value for the money. I agree it's somewhat smoky, and yes about 70 rounds of it left some residue in my cylinders (almost none in the barrel). However, it was also pretty damned accurate in my 2.5" barrelled S&W 19, with no FTFs. Some will say these are only a step up from Miwall reloads ... and I've never had a bad thing to say about those either. Great practice ammo - just bought 2 more boxes.
4.0 Rating Smoky and dirty, but decently priced - 7/12/2011.38 Special BVAC SWC 158 Grain 50 Round Box 850 fps "Practice and Target Ammunition"4.0000

Pretty smoky and pretty dirty ammo. It's accurate and shoots well, though. No failures to fire, and decently-priced.
