I bought a box of these back in Nov 2010 and I did receive a semi-jacketed hollow-point in a Top Brass casing. All 50 fired accurately and reliably, maybe a bit dirty. Last week I re-ordered 2 more boxes, and received a fully jacketed hollow-point in a nickel coated Fiocchi case. I have yet to fire these. It appears that the early batches were not fully jacketed, but the recent shipments are. I ordered some for a friend too, and he's had no problems either. I use Bitterroot Valley in .45LC as well as .357 and I have yet to have problems. As far as I'm concerned, Bitterroot produces quality ammo.

Bought a couple of boxes and ran them through my GP-100. Accuracy of the ammo was good and none failed to fire. The ammo did seem to be a bit dirty, but I clean my firearms after use so this isn't much of an issue.

Recently fired a box at the range through a Taurus 605. Every third shot would not fire though the primers were dented. The dents however were not as deep on the non firing rounds and would still not fire on a second strike.

I bought 250 rounds of this ammo, hoping for the best. I shot it through my S&W 686. I had to pull the trigger at least 12 times to fire 6 rounds every time. The primers would dent but the round would not fire. This was the situation with all 5 boxes. Bad primers? I don't know but I will not bet my life on this ammo. In all fairness, I had 1 box of their 230 gr. 45 acp ammo and had no problems what so ever.

I am writing this review to let people know that what they are buying is NOT a JHP round, it is a SEMI-JACKETED hollow point. All the other ammo makers correctly describe their product, but not BVAC. I have sent several emails to BVAC asking about this misleading advertising, but I have yet to get a response from them. I have not shot the ammo yet, but I think that if you are selling a "Semi-Jacketed" round you should advertise it as such. I will not be buying any more BVAC ammo. They can't be trusted as far as I am concerned.
