5.0 Rating Best In My Mossy 44US - 2/28/2011Ammo .22 LR Aguila Target Lead Round Nose 40 Grain 500 Round 1100 fps Great for Plinking Eley Primed5.0000

This ammo is the very best in my Mossberg 44US rifle. Shoots better than Wolf Match Target (another excellent ammo) in this rifle. Using Peep Sights it groups at 1/2" or better at 50 yards. Recommend this ammo to anyone with this rifle. As we know .22's can be picky about ammo.

Weights vary 52.6 to 50.6 but 5 or 6 boxes per brick are 51.4 to 51.6. I think if you weigh it out it groups as good as the Aguila Match Rifle, and is the cleanest ammo I have used.
3.0 Rating Ok But... - 5/14/2010Ammo .22 LR Aguila Target Lead Round Nose 40 Grain 500 Round 1100 fps Great for Plinking Eley Primed3.0000

I think this ammo is for people with single shots because it just didn't want to cycle quite right in my new 10/22. I shot 100 rounds out of the five hundred round brick and they are just as accurate as anything else that I have tried but already I have had 2 FTFs and approximately 20 jams. I keep the rifle clean and it works perfectly with other ammo so the rifle isn't at fault. Overall this ammo would probably work well in single shot guns but it's definitely not the stuff for my 10/22.
4.0 Rating Good, but..... - 4/30/2010Ammo .22 LR Aguila Target Lead Round Nose 40 Grain 500 Round 1100 fps Great for Plinking Eley Primed4.0000

I bought ten bricks of this stuff based on the reviews, and as far as I can tell so far, it's good, reliable ammunition. It has that typical Eley primer smell (I had some PMC ammunition, also made in Mexico, that smelled the same way...I kind of like it!), and I don't think it's any dirtier than any other kind of .22LR ammo. BUT... It has essentially turned my S&W Model 41 into a single shot. I've used 1080 ft/sec (or thereabouts...usually called "standard velocity") ammo for years...CCI, Remington, Winchester, Federal, PMC (see above)...and none of it has failed to cycle my Model 41, but this stuff just won't do it. It fires and ejects without a problem, but it doesn't drive the slide back far enough to pick up the next round; this is more an annoyance than a problem during the "slow fire" stage (where you have 10 minutes to get off 10 rounds), but in "timed" and "rapid" fire, it's impossible. If I can't find a lighter spring that will work in the Model 41, I have a lifetime supply of ammo for my Winchester 7422! In short, it's accurate and reliable, but be very careful if you plan to use it in an autoloading pistol because it may not be strong enough to work the action.
4.0 Rating Not bad for $30 - 3/16/2010Ammo .22 LR Aguila Target Lead Round Nose 40 Grain 500 Round 1100 fps Great for Plinking Eley Primed4.0000

I've been through several bricks and like it. I haven't had any reliability issues but do get some fliers from it. For the price, it's very accurate and doesn't seem quite as dirty as other Aguila ammo.
