Features a lower handguard with a concealed Picatinny rail for mounting lights, lasers, or vertical grips, two side rails perfect for mounting lights, and the upper handguard with a Picatinny rail allows for increased heat dissipation. Bottom handguard overall length: 6.5" with a bottom rail length of 4", top handguard overall length: 4.25" with a rail length of 4". Side rails are 2" long. Total weight: 9ounces. Like my other review states, I liked this item, as far as fit and feel go. However, I was knocked over (leaning against a tree) and the foregrip and the lower picatinny rail snapped right off. So, I ordered another one and will have to be very careful with it. The lower rail is a little brittle. (sad face)

I bought this, along with all the other dark earth pieces, for a Polish Tantal (5.45X39), and the fit and feel of the lower was dang near perfect! The upper half, unfortunately, does NOT work on the Tantal, due to the design of the Tantal. NOT the Tapco item. I would order it again, even knowing that I only got to use half of it.

FIT MY AK-47 WASR-10 EASILY AND LOOKS GREAT. EASY TO INSTALL AND STURDY EVEN AFTER PUTTING 100 ROUNDS THROUGH IT. LOVE THE LOOK AND FEEL WHILE SHOOTING. WITH THE OLD WOODEN FURNITURE I WOULD FEEL THE HEAT AFTER LESS THAN 10 ROUNDS. NOW I CAN'T EVEN FEEL A HINT OF HEAT AFTER SHOOTING 100 ROUNDS THROUGH IT.

This fit like a glove. It looks awesome and you can't beat the price. Yes, you do have to sand a couple TINY "nipples" down, but it took me about 20 minutes with a razor blade and a NAIL FILER! Anybody who spent more time than that (especially with better equipment) should not own a firearm to begin with. Why they have the "nipples" there to begin with, I don't know, but I'm sure it has something to do with fitting multiple different style ak's. It comes with instructions, but I just watched a "you toob" installation vid, and it was for a different brand handguard! Extremely simple, great product. BTW cheaperthandirt is awesome, fast shipping, great price and selection. thanks guys

It took me four hours probably... And I'm handy.. Sanding, hammer, etc.. Cool look, like the rails, stayed cool.

I bought this for my Draco, it was a no go.. so I tried to slap it on my amd65,, also pointless. Total cheap piece I wouldn't ever want to rely on. I could see it being maybe $20 or so...

I installed this on my Draco Pistol and love it better then the ATI one I got for my Romanian AK, the metal in the bottom does a great job of taking care of the heat generated by the gun!

I bought this handguard along with the T6 collapsible stock, SAW pistol grip and a few other TAPCO items. Installation went smooth, had to file a little on the small nubs on the upper handguard to get the gas tube locking mechanism to lock down. No problem, easy and took seconds. Handguards are solid and feel/look great. The instructions were fairly clear and they had small pictures to help on each step. One down side, my top handguard's rail is a little off center which will make zeroing a red dot harder but shouldn't make it impossible. Just a slight off center according to my gas tube orientation. Overall, great handguards for the coin!

I was very hesitant to buy this for my wasr. I was very pleased when I got it on tho. I had to take the file to the upper a bit, but no big problem. I am no gunsmith, but I am no idiot either. If u look at the way the two parts fit together u will c the areas that need filed. Once I got it on it was a nice tight fit (no wobble), and dressed up the rifle quite well. If you're looking to put some stuff on your wasr this will be perfect, no need to spend a lot of money on a cheap ak. If u own a higher end ak, probably not for u.

My first impression when I received this hand guard was the same as all other Tapco products. It is made well & looks good. The flat earth matches well with the other manufacturers. However, the bottom rail cover does not stay in place very well. It slides forward too easily. I soon found out that the lower will not work with my Ultimak gastube on my AK either. The top of the hand guard rises up too far & will not allow the hand guard to lock. After some extensive dremel work I had it fitting and running great. The two side rails where a good idea but they seamed to get in the way & made it uncomfortable to use. I just ended up removing them as well. In all it looks very good, fits perfectly, and works well when I installed it without the gas rail. After modifications it works with my other accessories, but it just fell short of what I had hoped.
