I bought this mainly because the scope I bought to hunt with my AK would hit me in the eye if I had used my standard wood stock. It works great. Having the ability to adjust it to a comfortable position no matter if I'm using my scope, red dot, or open sights is really handy. It feels solid when shooting. The multitude of sling attachment points is a definite plus. I'm a left handed shooter and the option to choose the side to attach my single point sling is nice. It also gives my AK a very cool look. Very satisfied.

This stock seems a little toyish, especially in its packaging, but overall seems to be a good upgrade. Installation is very easy, and the stock seems sturdy enough. The extra pull-length it provides is very nice and it seems lighter than the original stock as well. It also looks good on the rifle, especially with matching hand-guard and grip.

TAPCO makes excellent products for the money. If you are a shooting enthusiast this is the stock for you. If your life depends on your weapon, buy a steel AR-15 to AK stock adapter, MIL-SPEC aluminum tube and a ACC MIL-SPEC butt stock and spend about $200.00 more. The sock has some rotational play around the tube when locked in position. The additional length it provides for my Romanian SAR-1 was just the ticket. When purchasing the stock I bought the SAW-style pistol grip also made by TAPCO. Great combination, is has totally changed the handling of my gun. Installation was a breeze. You will need to drill pilot holes for the mounting screws and pay close attention in the placement of the holes. I suggest drilling the holes ever so slightly to the rear of center. Doing so while placing firm pressure on the stock when drilling will insure a snug fit into your AK's receiver. The stock comes with two sling mounts. One shown in the picture at the base of the stock and mount points close by the receiver. On my SAR the mount points by thr receiver are useless. If I place it on the left if will interfere with the removal of my scope mount. If I place it one right it is opposite to the sling mount on the front. But this is only a minor annoyance because the sling mount at the base is just fine. Yet again TAPCO does another fine job!! Great stock for the money.
