Do you prize the look and authentic lines of a traditional Pipe Hawk, but have little use for the hollow bowl and the strength-compromised, drilled-out wooden "smoking" handle? Well here's a Pipe Hawk without those disadvantageous features.

Precision forged from 1055 carbon steel, the Pipe Hawk offers a long, reasonably wide cutting edge and a solid, fully hardened hammer poll that's turned and ribbed to mimic a hollow pipe bowl.

Fitted with a 19" hickory handle and weighing approximately 26 ounces it's heavy enough to be brutally effective as a chopping tool and weapon plus its solid bowl will drive nails, spikes and stakes with the power of a framing hammer.

Note: Does NOT function as an actual smoking pipe.

Specifications and Features:
Overall Length: 22"
Hawk Length: 7"
Primary Edge: 3"
Steel: Drop Forged 1055 Carbon
Weight: 28 oz
Handle: American Hickory

3.0 Rating It' worth what you pay for it. - 1/21/2014

I bought this to take with me when I go on extended hikes. It is just a tad bit heavier than I would like but not a deal breaker. I still plan to take it. Out of the box the fit and finish was about what I expected for the money. The "coated" blade is just cheap black paint which I stripped with spray on stripper, which took about 10 minutes. The steel underneath is very rough and will take some work to polish up. The cutting edge was ok at best. I chopped a piece of pine that was about a year old and about 7" in diameter. I chopped through but it took some work. I sharpened the blade and chopped the same piece of wood and it made a huge difference. The blade maintained it new edge pretty well. Once I was done testing the new edge it only took a quick hit with the polishing stone to get the edge back to razor sharp. Am I happy with it? Yes Would I buy another? Yes
