Contrary to some opinions, a hunting knife does not have to have a bone handle made from an animal you killed yourself. In fact, there are many reasons to consider such natural materials inferior. Like grip. A knife will do you no good if you can't easily hang onto it in the wet, muddy, and generally slippery conditions in which hunters often find themselves. Sometimes, the best solution is a man-made solution. Case in point, the Kershaw Roughneck. It has a double injection-molded co-polymer handle that provides an extremely solid grip.

The handle is contoured to fit the hand and enable it to lock in safely and securely. The full-tang blade is built of high-carbon AUS6A stainless steel for wear resistance, good toughness, and the ability to be sharpened to an exceptionally sharp edge. The blade offers a versatile clip-point plain edge, but the top of the blade is serrated for the ability to saw through tougher or fibrous materials. Some customers have reported that it comes in handy for striking massive sparks from a Firesteel-without having to touch the main blade. The Roughneck offers great performance at a value price.
