Note: Mossberg shotguns with 6-3/4" forend tubes will require an adapter nut, product number 87712. Gunsmithing is not typically required for installation but may require various firearm specific wrenches and other tools for stock and forend removal. In some instances the forend may not fit to the magazine tube. Hogue recommends the following fix: Using a Dremel tool, remove the ribs just inside the forend where the nut starts (approximately 1/4" down), this will allow the nut to slide down inside. This forend is only compatible to Mossberg Shotguns with a removable forend, any Mossberg Shotgun newer than 2006 should be checked to insure that it has a removable forend with a castle nut.

I am very happy with this stock. It handles alot better in the wet and nasty. The first time I ordered it, they sent me a stubby one, which I assume is meant for body armor. But, they were glad to replace it and everything was fine. Very tough. It handles alot better. I'm alot faster with it. Overall, great product.

This piece required some dremmel work on the foregrip. Even after the fact, the lug head for the stock was too large. Maybe I got a defective one. The box clearly stated it was for a Mossberg 500... who knows!

The 5/16 bolt required for this installation is not included, so off to the hardware store... Second, the tight quarters for the installation is difficult. Once I bought a bolt, a lock washer for the installation is not possible. After finally installing the stock, my 18.5" Mossberg handles great.

Put this on my Mossberg 500. Everything fit tight and snug. Stock and Forend has a nice feel to it and seems like a quality product. Did not include a bolt but I was able to use the stock bolt that my Mossberg came with. For the price its hard to pass up.

Installing the forend on my Mossberg 590 was a little bit of a chore, but that's more about Mossberg than Hogue. The forend is light years better than the original. I expected the stock to be fully rubberized. It's not. Only the 'pistol grip' portion and the butt plate have the Hogue treatment. The bulk of the stock is hard plastic like the original. That was a little bit of a disappointment. Still, this is a great improvement over the original equipment. One last note, the Hogue stock is about .5" shorter than the original. It's not a problem for me, but the dimensions should be known up front. Go ahead, buy it. But you may have a couple of surprises in the package.

hogue does it again. fits my 500A 20in Persuader great, no modification need. has a good feel to it. hogue should include a stock screw though.

Very pleased, works well with a 18 inch barrel for defence purposes, but if used for hunting and you are using a longer, heavy barrel, I suggest putting some wieght in the space inside the hollow portion of the synthetic stock to balance. The overmold provides good grip and control of the weapon.

Great stock when you have the sense to use it. I purchased this stock set two years ago before dove season. It has worked well in rain and cold, and the recoil pad has keep me from having a sore shoulder, even the game warden liked it. I made the mistake of taking it off and putting the factory stock on for a clay shoot, bad idea my shoulder was sore a week. I put the Hogue stock back on as soon as I got home, and I will not take it off again.
