Hornady lead bullets are pre-lubricated and cold-swaged for total uniformity and balance. Our exclusive knurling system retains lubricant over the entire bearing surface to reduce leading in your barrel.

The semi wad cutter bullet is a lubricated solid lead bullet with a semi pointed nose. The semi wad cutter bullet is formed by a swaging process, resulting in a sharp shoulder for clean hole punching in paper targets. Semi wad cutter bullets are a good choice for target practice or for general shooting.

One of my favorite shooters is an old Colt DA (Colt New Police) from 1914, I was never able to get any accuracy from jacketed bullets, or factory lead loads. I thought my barrel was shot out but I went ahead and slugged it and found that the groove diameter was right at .314", the factory lead and jacketed loads are .311", no wonder I was all over the place. Loading these over 1.8 to 2.0 grains of Tite-Group with a standard primer and medium roll crimp, the little colt is capable of really grouping well, and chronos at over 760fps. Not a high performance personal protection load, but for plinking, punching paper, or even taking a rabbit or squirrel it is fantastic! The knurled skirt with dry lube grabs the rifling well and shoots very well without the heavy leading I'd expect with them. Before you give up on the old .32 S&W Longs that don't seem to shoot well, try a .314 bullet under 800fps, you might find out that the barrel isn't shot out, just a little on the large size.
